Aerials

Looking for some help with comparing modern aerials alongside some historical ones from the BPL. I'm a huge fan of going into Google Earth and lining up these old aerials with modern ones, but they always kind of look like shit, so I'm trying to find high-quality aerials to compare them to.

Also does anyone have an aerial or photo that includes both Fenway and Braves Field? I've been looking for a while

These are all awesome. On the next to last photo, the widening of Cambridge Street is underway.

If you're looking for vertical aerials, Mapjunction has at least one from 1952 when Braves Field was still standing, and another from 1955 when demolition was apparently already underway.

As for bird's eye view photographs, those might be more difficult to find - if nothing else because the Commonwealth Armory might have served as a visual obstruction. I'm no expert on the subject though so maybe there is one out there. Good luck with the hunt.

This part of Back Bay has so many great large buildings. The Somerset, Beacon Towers, 416 Marlborough, Kenmore abbey, the braemore, and the Charlesgate. I imagine a Paris like Boston where we built hundreds of these with wide commonwealth ave style boulevards

Thanks for the tip. They weren't opening for me either.
 
OK I just went and redid all the links by removing the gobbledygook and hopefully they show up with no issues now? I love the modern tech era of having to try and stay one step ahead of the enshittification -- I just switched to Firefox from Chrome for this very reason and I've been wondering if somehow that might've had a little something to do with this issue as well. Time will tell....
