Any ideas on why there are identical holes in the brick facade above every other floor? I'm guessing to support scaffolding in the future?
Concur! An ugly aspect to that building.
Glad to see you posting again. I had the same experience.View attachment 70576
Markhb and myself were mysteriously removed from archBOSTON a few weeks ago for no apparent reason and efforts to restore my 16 years of contributing were futile. So I've rejoined as a "new member" and will proceed forward as if nothing ever happened!![]()
Overlooking a prison yard, though. They've got to make Monument Square more inviting, could start by figuring out something better than harsh flood lights. When this building is done and ready for guests, it will be THE go-to night spot in the city. A bar at the top and a speakeasy in the bank vault in the basement? And if the Old Port Square hotel/condos/rooftop space is built, I'd say where else in New England other than Boston will you have something comparable to both combined? Not Providence, and certainly not Hartford. FYI, in Boston go visit the new Raffles Hotel bars and restaurants on the 19th floor. Wow.
