*two decades.Guys don't jerk me off on this, I was there with you more than a decade ago ..
Price gouging. What?!?!?! Top of the Hub was jam-packed for decades. How could there possibly not be a bar/food option at View Boston?!?!?
That fucking sucks, I loved going there. I brought some friends and family members with me to Stratus a few times, and they all loved it.Well that was fast! From BBJ today:
"View Boston — the observation deck, retail and restaurant spot at the top of the Prudential Center — is closing all of its dining options this spring."

It is? I’ve never even considered going up because I thought it was just a $50 elevator ride for expensive drinks.View Boston/Stratus was well worth the hype, even though it was pricey.
Is the observation deck going to stay open, just without the bar and sit-down restaurant? Or will the observation deck itself be closed to make room for more "event space"?
I thought it was great and worth the high price. They did a nice job making it into a desirable place to visit for locals, not just tourists. I went there at least 6 or 7 times with friends and family, and everyone I went with loved it. Stratus was busy anytime I went, even in the fall and winter when it was cold up there. I'm very surprised that they're pulling the plug.It is? I’ve never even considered going up because I thought it was just a $50 elevator ride for expensive drinks.
Yeah, this is a huge mistake. I can maybe understand closing The Beacon bistro (floor 50) if they need more event space and things aren't working out financially, but closing Stratus (floor 51) makes no sense to me. It's not even a big bar; it's rather small and off to the side. That bar is a huge reason why people are willing to pay so much to go up there. I can't imagine myself returning (much, if ever) without the bar. View Boston will be so empty without any drinks or dining. They're turning a vibrant attraction into a sterile tourist trap. This is truly the worst. At the very least keep Stratus with maybe a limited menu. WTF? "Boston's highest rooftop bar" -- I mean, I've been to observation decks in NYC (SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, Top of the Rock), Chicago (360 Chiago, Skydeck Chicago), Frankfurt (Main Tower), Shanghai (Jin Mao, Shanghai Tower, Oriental Pearl) and a huge part of the experience is being able to enjoy a snack and a drink while casually taking in the view. What was the point of the giant rehab to the Pru's upper floors if only to have it be an expensive elevator ride?
Top of the Hub is missed now more than ever. Damn.

Also, just a rumor at this point but supposedly London-based La Petite Maison is opening a location at One Dalton. Not sure if it’s replacing Zuma or if they’re converting event space.
^from: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2026/02/26/lifestyle/view-boston-closes-rooftop-eateries/Meanwhile, a French restaurant will debut at the Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston. Le Petite Mason (LPM) opens this summer on the hotel’s second floor. It’s the first Northeast outpost for the brand, which serves a Mediterranean menu in Las Vegas and Miami. LPM replaces One + One, which focused on breakfast. The hotel is also home to Zuma, an izakaya, and Trifeca lounge.
