I had posted it here, but come to find out theres a separate thread as u showed above.

Can a mod move the phase 2 posts over to the phase 2 thread? Also move the posts from here and delete this thread.

I had some friends from CA visiting and so put them up at the Aloft here last September. This area is quite dynamic. The lawn on D (change that name please) across is an almost unbelievable and safe space to play, etc. when you have kids. It's also a short and fun walk from here into the Seaport core (love that Amazon green space) and rideshares are short and easy to anywhere in Back Bay or the North End. And the airport? You can walk to the Silver Line from this area and in 10 minutes be at your terminal. We'll be back.

Counterpoint: The Lawn on D has been wildly successful beyond anybody's imagination, and its branding (including its name) has been a key part of that. It was a strip of grass next to a convention center in an industrial stretch of empty parking lots, but it still became one of the most activated spaces in the city. Even the apartments and hotels that opened up across the street from it used the lawn as a selling point. And there was a good years-long stretch before COVID when any straight male on a dating app in Boston couldn't go more than 5 swipes without seeing a girl on one of those big swings.

It would have been so easy to call this something like "Menino Park" (or even "D Street Park") but those names would not have fit as perfectly with its moment in time and would have run against its success.

It's been over 10 years and clearly its peak popularity has passed, but it had a great run while it lasted!
