I know why they are the way they are. I have built these buildings before. The point is that we need not build a whole city of dreck. There are places where this isn’t happening and we must learn from them.
How do we not only learn from them, but put it into action?

Developer gets ball rolling to replace bearing plant in Allston with 'car-free urban living'​

“A Burlington developer has filed plans to replace the Action Bearing building at 201-207 Brighton Ave. in Allston with a six-story, 145-unit apartment building.
Under DND Homes' proposal, the building would have 30 affordable apartments. Roughly half the units would be studios, with 47 one-bedroom units and the rest split among two- and three-bedroom units.
The proposal calls for no parking……”

Allston Condo Project Secures $10M Permit for Foundation Work​

“A new condominium development is moving forward at 120 Braintree St. in Boston’s Allston neighborhood after receiving a $10 million building permit to begin foundation work. The project, known as Allston Residences, will feature a five-story building with 32 condominium units, including 15 one-bedroom, 15 two-bedroom, and two three-bedroom homes, along with a ground-floor retail space and off-street parking……….”
