The wife and I were discussing the closure of the Pru's observation deck bars on the way into the city today and it hit me that this would be a perfect spot for a rooftop restaurant. Probably a non-starter with it being residential but the views would be incredible.

Maybe the building closest to Third Street in the Kendall Common development could fill that role?

Man, I know some folks really like smokestacks, but if only that one on the Cambridge side of the Longfellow (Kendall Cogeneration Station?) could move............(yes, yes, I know, it's very important and all...)
It's actually conceivable that it can go away in the not too distant future:

@KentXie , absolutely gorgeous shot (I hope you may not mind me doing a linked re-posting in-line for easier viewability):

^There've been several great ones of this building, but this one stands out to me as perhaps the first that really showcases its impact. Thanks so much for sharing it here!

Great transformation project with great technology, but it looks like it still will be THERE with the stacks.
Yeah, with all the steam infrastructure plumbed to that location, it's not going anywhere, but over time they may not need the stacks anymore; at least not all of them. Remember the electric grid is also getting a huge capacity boost with the new greater cambridge energy project. No doubt what I was sharing was wishful and indirect; I merely meant it's a step in the right direction.
