Somerville Infill and Small Developments

30-35 Cedar is still working on the foundations.
 
That’s the one. The renders didn’t make it clear that the cladding is masonry.
 
It’s looking great. I too was wondering why it was dragging along. Is there going to be retail/cafe on ground fl? Would be tons of foot traffic being that it directly abuts the community path.
 
So, uh, a thought. At at what point does an ADU project become just... someone's backyard for the purposes of AB? This one abuts a public street and impacts the streetscape so it's at least valid infill, but Liberty is just barely not an alley.

Narrow oddball streets like this are pretty common in neighborhoods of this vintage. These small streets were added onto the original street grid to provide access to residences added later in the backyards of the original houses.

The one on the right is actually a gut reno. We'll miss those trees for sure! But at least they're filling the lot up.
