Was anyone working on site? I haven’t noticed activity on the site in months.
The perimeter gate was ajar which allowed for the first floor closeups, but I didn't see any workers in the few moments I was there.

The project proposes new construction of a multifamily residential building of up to 151 residential units and onsite garage parking for 28 vehicles in an approximately 82,606 square foot, six (6) story building, with an onsite gym, gathering room, and coffee/gaming room, along with rooftop solar and a roof deck.

Project at 697 Cambridge Street to build new housing in Brighton

Housing:
42 units, seven income-restricted units

Jobs: Approximately 27 construction jobs

Community: Public realm & sidewalk improvements

This project will add a three-story addition atop an existing two-story commercial structure, resulting in a five-story residential building in Brighton. The project will create 42 new units of housing, ranging from studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. The Allston-Brighton Needs Assessment, which was adopted by the BPDA Board in 2024, coincides with the site of this project and encourages additional housing in the neighborhood. The project will create a wider sidewalk on nearby Dustin Street, and much-needed streetscape improvements to Cambridge Street. As part of the project’s community benefits, the project will contribute $5,000 to Allston Main Streetsin support of the organization’s regular maintenance of the neighborhood. The project will also contribute $5,000 to local youth sports leagues. In addition, this project will support the current tenant, Brazilian Women’s Group, in finding a new location to continue their work and there will be no disruption in services.
