The reason I didn't include the existing key routes is that a lot, like the 66, are terrible. Just like the SL4/5 brings down the Silver Line brand, the really slow routes will bring down this new brand. Like yeah, the CT1 gets bogged down in traffic, but at least it skips stops.

They need to stop branding the Washington St and Transitway routes as the same servic. They're not, in any way. Having 1,2,3 go through the Transitway, 4,5 on the surface and not actually connected, and then 6 onwards back through the Transitway is going to confuse tourists, etc even more.

But aren't / shouldn't they be? GLX, red to blue, BL to Lynn/Danvers, OL to Roslindale, GL to Needham is easially 40 years in the pipeline. Past there, OL to Reading, Red to Waltham and/or Arlington, Green to West Roxbury or even Winchester, etc. That's not counting ongoing maintence like bridge...

There's nothing about that design that's "Historic", other than that it uses contextual materials and massing. The cornise is very modern compared to what an actual Historic pattern would be, as are the store fronts. Just because it doesn't subscribe to the cult of modernism doesn't mean it's...

As long as its not crazy restrictive, I think this is a great idea. It does need to take down the existing systems in place though. If under this new system a Cambridge cab can't pick up in Boston, etc, its useless.

View: Bunker Hill, Schraffts, and Downtown. You could see the Back Bay before Partners went up, still can over by the river. I spend a lot of time up on the roof. Honestly, even the power plant is pretty majestic from up high.

I used to post a lot and have been busy with getting married, job searching, moving, and life. It's also the last week of summer; people are vacating and such. I'm sure more than a few people are also on Sept 1st leases and looking for a new place / packing.
