MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

If you go to the BPDA's online atlas and look up the Bromley Maps of that neighborhood, the only map that shows the spelling with two Ds is the 1902 atlas, which soon after the street was laid out (and appears to have been a paper street at the time). All subsequent spellings, maps and most...

The roadways in and out of DFW have tollbooths, so anyone picking up/dropping off pays a toll.

    Cambridge Crossing (NorthPoint) | East Cambridge/Charlestown | Cambridge/Boston

Maybe the red car is just visiting from Stuttgart. Quite a drive, but I've seen cars and campers German plates on roads in this area (as well as during a visit last month to Death Valley).

Probably not if they hold it at, say, 7.

New Red and Orange Line Cars

500 miles, in the grand scheme of things, isn't really all that much. The Orange Line is approximately 11 miles from end to end. That's approximately 23 round trips on the whole line. Most of the current sets likely do much more than that in a couple of days.

Our Lady of Good Voyage | Seaport Sq Parcel H | 55 - 57 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

That first "old" image is of the interior of a church of the same name in Gloucester. Thankfully it is still there and that interior remains intact.

What are you listening to now?

A different take on one of my favorite Elliott Smith songs. Despite having been a fan of his for over twenty years, I never heard it before last January. I saw it just after seeing Call Me By Your Name and thought it fit the mood of that film very well. I think I might like this better than the...

Alexandra Hotel Renovation | 1769 Washington St | Roxbury

Re: Alexandra Hotel Renovation | 1769 Washington St | South End Ugh. Another building with a tumor growing out of it. What a mockery of preservation this makes.

A similarly absurd situation exists in Woburn. I'd love to take my bike on the train and ride it from Anderson via the mostly quiet back roads and wide dirt paths through the conservation land between there and my parents' place near the Mill Pond Reservoir in Burlington (or walk for that...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I was in Dublin a couple of weeks ago and had the opportunity to ride the buses there and didn't notice that. What I did notice was the quick acceleration that the buses (all Volvo, per Wikipedia) Dublin Bus uses have. If the T could get some quick accelerating buses, that might help with...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

It will even benefit those farther out: commuters using the Commuter Rail. Instead of sitting in the waiting room, passengers can shop for their groceries and bring them with them on the train, eliminating potential stops on the way home. Sure, they won't be doing their core shopping (or buying...

Northampton Square Complex (24-Story Tower) | Albany St | Roxbury

Not sure, but this is a completely different project in a part that was to remain (mostly) unaffected by the tower project. The pool repair project consists of a depth reduction, new drainage system, retiling of the pool and pool deck, and natatorium window replacement. It is expected to be...

They're expanding the footprint out and towards the rear and have been driving sheet piles for the past week or so. I live about 150 feet away on E. I walked up it yesterday. I counted six empty storefronts out of a total of (I think) 29 storefronts.
