    Nuba ( Parcel 8) | 429 Melnea Cass Blvd | Nubian Sq | Roxbury

I am not sure if folks are struck by the engineering of the thing, the reality of it it not being VEed, or the utility of it. From an engineering/planning perspective great example of this locally is post office square, the entire park is the roof to a parking garage. That said, I dont think...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Honestly this is such a big improvement appearance wise.

Marine Wharf (Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites) | 660 Summer St | Seaport

Where to start on this one...whatever happened to texture in facades, also how did this color scheme get past internal and external reviews, its bad.

10 World Trade | BGI Office Tower (Massport Parcel A2) | Seaport

Generally in the mid-term and with a major lease in place, good. In the short term on spec without a tenant. and as designed, nonexistent.

10 World Trade | BGI Office Tower (Massport Parcel A2) | Seaport

VE is going to hit this baby hard.

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

JLL, who owns the building, is also a tenant, and will be in place through the renovation. I have not heard of them landing any new leases yet.

That is interesting, I would guess that they are getting their fire rating from enclosing with gyp board. I dont know the code off hand.

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

Curtain wall is going in and I am a little scared about the contrast between the transom glass and the balance of the curtain wall... its also more reflective than I would have thought. I am sure we shall soon see.

    COVID-19 in Boston

I went on a bike ride down there last night and IT WAS AMAZING. Sure it looks a little ramshackle given how its been pulled together so quickly. However, it is lively, active, and simply fucking beautiful. Very European, I think it would really help amplify Boston as a destination not to mention...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Honestly, if someone just painted them to match the glazing so they dont stand out from the rest of the facade. Its just not a good look for a luxury building to go this long with what are clearly temp protections.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I am the only one that thinks this office building is trying to do to many things? They could have cut out half of the ideas, it doesn't read as one language at all and that makes it look unresolved.

There are very few urban renewal projects that I would say are better than what they replaced and this is one of them. I would take the reflecting pool and plaza any day.

Dorchester Bay City (nee Bayside Expo Ctr.) | Columbia Point

Of course I own that book, what sort of geography nerd do you think I am? I did say this wasn't a new trend but I don’t think this is simply wharfing out either. While I agree these phenomena are related, in that they are both phases of city growth, I also think the areas I highlighted and the...

Dorchester Bay City (nee Bayside Expo Ctr.) | Columbia Point

I decided to highlight the areas which are now being to transition rather than those which have already transitioned, but totally. I could have also tossed in MIT too.

Dorchester Bay City (nee Bayside Expo Ctr.) | Columbia Point

Agreed, it is a trend that is happening else where too. I think it is both a outcome of lack of space at the core and being driven by market forces, specifically our changing economy as well as changing physical requirements for manufacturing and logistics. The city developed with distinct...

Midtown Hotel Redevelopment | 220 Huntington Avenue | Back Bay

I might be walking in front of the firing squad by saying this, but I hope the proposal is mindful about shadows on CS plaza. It is a gem and I think its unobstructed southern exposure is valuable.

    585 Kendall | 585 Third Street | Kendall Square

^ Its all about highest and best use. As long a lab buildings are making more money than residential buildings then developers are going to build lab. Couple that with the added risk of a condo vs lab building, there are no luxury high rise (condo) precedents in Kendall to show sale values, thus...

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston/Revere

There is certainly a cultural aversion to change but is is strongly supported by economic benefits owners reap from limiting supply. I personally think there is much to be said for thinking of homeowners as a cartel.

Constellation Center | 43 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

I hate it, but I will be surprised if they break 300 ft, assuming they go full lab. That is the height of the Center for Life Sciences in Longwood which is about as tall as lab goes as far as I am aware.

Northeastern University - Institutional Master Plan

My understanding is that the Skanska team for the bridge was working out of that trailer. I think it is/will be transitioned to JMA when work begins.
