Re: Fenway Center (One Kenmore, Mass Turnpike PARCEL 7) The vent buildings along the CA/T project have scrubbers and filters installed in them reducing the amount of toxins released into the air.

Atlantic Wharf (née Russia Wharf) | Atlantic Ave | Waterfront

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf) ^that last pic is really nice! Well framed. Boston is such a nice looking city from that vantage point. Is that giant block on the left Fan Pier?

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

Hmm, there must be some confusion here. I think the Conservancy is going to enhance these pathetic gardens by reconfiguring the pathways, adding additional plants and well as some much needed infrastructure (think lighting, seats, maybe a kiosk for food, education, etc). There's a lot of...

Neighborhood groups along the Greenway: North End Wharf District: Harbor Towers, Rowes Wharf, Folio Dewey Square: Residences at Intercontinental, Leather District Chinatown Believe it or not, it takes a small group of vocal residence to derail anything in this town. It's because of these...

They could actually do something like this in the Fort Point channel...once everything gets developed of course. The only place on the Greenway I see anything 'monumental' is probably near South Station at Dewey Square. Other than that, the various factions of residents have already staked...

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

I slogged through this blog. The guy who writes it seems to have a personal vendetta against the greenway group. Every article is negative or full of misinformation. Either he's bored or a complete tool. Also, to answer you question, I'm all for activating the RKG. Live performances seem...

Ron, the park is called Mary Soo Hoo park, directly behind the vent building on Hudson Street. It's a children's playground put in place long before the Greenway and is now infested with rats.

Bingo. Couple that with conventional proposals and an highway agency running the show and you have the the best watered down 'park' in the world.

But the solution seems to be to build up the surrounding areas with the right kind of development in order to (planning 101) increase density and create a 24 hour neighborhood. Then we'll see the activation you all have been clamoring for. The North End parks seem to see the level of activity...

So the real problem is what's around the Greenway and not so much the Greenway itself?

Brookline has installed a set of black metal boxes for various publications at certain locations - Coolidge Corner, Washington Square, etc. Sadly they are not being used. Boston could do this, but then you eliminate the visual chaos of the urban environment that makes it interesting.

Radian (Dainty Dot) | 120 Kingston Street | Chinatown

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown Huh? 120 Kingston abuts the Chinatown Park which is most certainly part of the Greenway. Check out Google Maps or the MTA website or the Conservancy website... I agree though that there is certainly height precedent in the area. There is no...

Shepard, as many of us have stated before the parcel above is temporary in nature. The City and the Conservancy are in the planning stages of a complete redesign of the Dewey Square parcels. As you may recall, these parcels was previously designated to MassHort for their ill-fated Garden Under...

    MBTA Construction Projects

Re: T construction news Is there a way to get the actual costs and who was paid what for this work? Can the state audit a project like this or is the MBTA miraculously protected under a special law? I'm outraged!
