State to take closer look at tolls on I-93

In the past sin taxes like those on cigarettes or tolls like on the Mass Pike were said to be for a specific purpose and then at the whim of the legislature they were used for other things. Is there any guarantee under state law that these tolls would be used for the intended purpose. I believe...

State to take closer look at tolls on I-93

Keep in mind that the wealthy and the students are generally the only people rich enough to live in Town. Why don't we tax them? Edit: I am being sarcastic

I think this might be a really good idea. Seeing how well it works in a nearby state is intriguing, but how can we quantify if it is a better way? That would be the first step in convincing people to take this seriously

Why isn't the Tobin bridge lit up at night?

Not to be a Debby Downer but there is also the possibility of Kenny Rogers chickening all of Chelsea

Why isn't the Tobin bridge lit up at night?

To enter Boston proper you must cross a bridge over the Neponset, Charles or Mother Brook and they are not all lit up because they are not important enough and the cost isn't justified. If we suggest the Tobin be lit then legitimate questions will be asked about its true cost and purpose.

Why isn't the Tobin bridge lit up at night?

I don't think it should pass the environmental sniff test. It has no real practical purpose beyond esthetic

Well I agree and disagree with that. Yes people should get more involved in general. This is something that comes up from time to time and eventually it comes down to people going to meetings and such instead of just going on and on about NIMBY's here. Personally, I see no great conspiracy that...

    800 Morrissey Blvd | Dorchester

Yes, and in the other direction the trail will connect to The Beat, Dorchester Bay City and the Red Line. Someday the trail will complete the Harborwalk connection to the Neponset River Greenway trails south of the city connecting the Blue Hills to DT Boston and beyond

    800 Morrissey Blvd | Dorchester

This project might end up being within walking distance to the beach. The Climate Ready Dorchester plan recommends extending Tenean Beach to Victory Road. This would help extend the Harborwalk to the Neponset River and end up being one of the nicest beaches in the city. It's also a dream come...

Why stop at 50? How about a thousand footer! And there's all kinds of open land across the street just being wasted, maybe a whole neighborhood of them. We can solve the housing crisis in a week!

This property is right at the gateway to the square and it currently looks terrible. People may or may not like the idea of the dispensary but the property has had a hard time keeping tenants. I think it will look good for now and someday this might be the site of an interesting development. The...

I'm confused. How could it be so successful and better than elsewhere if it is devastated?

When I talk about giving credit I mean for quantifiable improvements to the city in this generation and the last. For example the MWRA/ Harbor cleanup (an existential threat to all development- we almost ran out of water) and the Big Dig. These things were then paid for by the average person
