Roads and Highways General Development Thread

Driving through Back Bay last night, Beacon Street was repaved from Arlington to Mass Ave! I don't think I've seen Beacon repaved in the past 30 years! Congratulations Boston. Now for my pecimism; I hope National Grid does nnot plan on replacing the gas main and every service line on Beacon for...

Great photo from Reddit post-Reddit Link I caught the last 5 years or so of drafting; ink on Mylar. Someone in the comments noticed a lot of the drafters are left handed. Too funny.

    Brockton Fairgrounds Redevelopment

A little bit of a side story on the fairgrounds/ Campanelli Stadium. This past summer I found out that Brockton has been having a punk concert for 40 years! I can't believe I missed it all these years! I asked a couple of folks to go but to no avail. NOFX Brockton

    The New Retail Thread

The food court area is getting a little bit of a shake as well. Two of the central eateries are moving to the street front retail area. The central court is a mix of noodle houses and sushi bars that has been a unique Japanese alley type of environment for many years. I hope the central court...

    Crazy Highway Pitches

Do you think it's time to extend 290/190 into New Hampshire to relieve 495 North traffic? Or even Rt 84 for that matter? A lot of Town forest would fall victim to such a plan but 495 it is a parking lot these days. maps...

40 Centre Street Brookline- Elderly housing development. The brick is a nice touch instead of all panel system. The rigid insulation behind the masonry is concerningly thin!! Brookline Infill and Small Developments

The Pierce Public School, Brookline. The historic portion is a classic. The new addition is I believe is a1970s modern, sort of Utopian open plan complex/ social experiment. Not a failed experiment but more of the wrong application. Anyway, the demolition has started.
