Alewife T Station, Garage, Bus, & Trails

^Somewhat similar to Quincy Adams? Doesn't solve the issue of getting people out of the garage though?

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport There's all that empty space where 93 used to be... seems like a perfect spot for one! Right size and everything.

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Correct!

    Is parking too cheap?

I'm probably as free market oriented as anyone on this site but I can't see the best case solution here being to raise prices until the market is satisfied. (Which they should do, but shouldn't stop there) I think the rub here is that there is plenty of land near the Littleton and other commuter...

    Biking in Boston

In the first picture it looks like the fault of the city as the car appears to be parked at a meter?!?

Emergency Closure of Bridge to (Boston's) Long island

I might in the minority here... but as many good things as I've heard about the program on Long Island, this seems like a tough pill for the State or City to pony up the cash for right now...

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

Re: Driven By Customer 'Service' Parte Dos Also a fan of fare validation with proof of payment with inspectors on random trains. I thought the infrastructure (fare validation boxes) was already in place at major Green Line stops? What is holding this up from being implemented. If I had $2.10...

One Canal (formerly Greenway Center) | Bullfinch Triangle | West End

Re: One Canal (formerly Greenway Center, Bullfinch Triangle) I believe it is now going in the TD Garden towers. The latest renders included a Star Market in a few of the pictures. There had been desire for One Canal to house the grocery store, but I think the requirement was effectively...

    Fairmount Line Upgrade

Re: Fairmont Line Upgrade Yes - I agree. So let's make it one, but tacking on Saturday/Sunday service with even more infrequent headways isn't going to help the Monday-Friday at all.

    Fairmount Line Upgrade

Re: Fairmont Line Upgrade I'm not saying the weekday ridership shouldn't be poor, I'm just saying that it is and we should focus on improving THAT first before even thinking about weekend service. It seems like we are trying to solve one problem by creating another. It's obviously tough to...

    Fairmount Line Upgrade

Re: Fairmont Line Upgrade When I lived in Davis and worked in City Square I took it occasionally, but was one of the (admittedly few) riders taking it inbound in the morning. It was probably longer than the 89 Bus to Sullivan to 92/93 to Charlestown but was surprisingly more predictable. There...

    Fairmount Line Upgrade

Re: Fairmont Line Upgrade As it should? The Fairmount weekday numbers are anemic. What's the benefit of providing weekend service if there is nobody there to use it?

    Commonwealth Avenue Improvement Project

The difference would be everyone is able to use the roads (including trucks which pay taxes in the Commonwealth) where as only the freight carriers would bear the cost of switching to smaller trucks (which would be passed on to consumers to the extent possible). The point I was trying to...

    Gov't Center Station Rebuild

What has your experience been in other cities? I don't recall other old transit systems (Chicago, NY or Philly) being any better than Boston (or even really close at all?).

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

Which section is up for the work? I used to live in Newton and am more familiar with the section from Beacon to Boylston than from Boylston to West Rox. I don't think I've ever seen more than a handful of cars on that stretch at the same time.
