    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

Does anyone know what is happening on the side of the MassPike in the old Allston Rail Yards. I know they removed the toll booths and aligned the Pike, but there are giant bridge-size steel guarders sitting in the rail yard. I don't think the MassPike Rerouting has been approved?

Harbor Garage Redevelopment Pontificating | Waterfront

The Aquarium people have a lot of nerve. They are demanding Chiofaro cover any financial losses the Aquarium suffers due to construction. The Aquarium in a (non-profit) business like every other business in the area. They are not entitled to anything that any other business owner in the area...

Omni Hotel @ BCEC | Summer St | Seaport

Note the article says the project is being built without subsidies. So much for the naysayers on this site who say convention-headquarter hotels always need subsidies. Get the government out of the way and let the private market operate.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District Walsh sees a big paycheck and doesn't care about the future effects. Remember he's a union guy at heart and they are famous for killing the golden goose in order to gain one gold egg.

    Revere Infill and Small Developments

Yes, I'm sure Revere wants to be a dumping ground for all of Boston, Somerville and Cambridge's poor. Maybe we could build that next door to you instead.

MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

I would argue a temporary problem (for at least a year or so) for tens of thousands of drivers should derail improvement for one (the developer), yes.

    61-83 Braintree St | Brighton

Re: 61-83 Braintree st | Brighton It looks like they left room for the billboard in constructing this. Its hard to tell how it will look when completed only from the arch drawings. Is there really enough profit in a billboard to design an apartment building around it?

MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

Has anyone considered the impact of building a platform over the Pike on Pike traffic. Pike users have already suffered in traffic jams due to reconstruction of the median (2 years) and destruction of the toll plazas. Why should the already terrible commute be made worse so that a developer...

    BCEC expansion | Seaport

It really bothers me that the Westin has declined to do the expansion given the state land they were handed. Expansion should have been mandatory if certain criterion were met. It just goes to show that Mass. officials should not be getting involved in complex deals, they just are not capable...

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

Re: Offical City Hall Plaza Proposals The giant Adirondack chair at the entrance was a hit. Big line to take a picture sitting in chair. BOSTON sign was pretty impressive when lit up at night. Again, many posing in front of sign.

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

I saw this post from back in 2006. By my count, 9 of the 18 listed are now complete and at least two more are being considered. Not a bad track record in my mind.

Why are the people in renderings always stick thin? Will people not buy a condo or rent an office if a few "regular" sized people appear in the renderings?

Kendall Common ( née Volpe Redevelopment) | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

Don't forget, MIT will have to build a 400K foot building for the feds in order to have the right to build here. They are going to have to build something tall or dense in order to recover that cost plus the cost of building. Those who hope for a big park are off their rockers.

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Gas stations are crucial to local residents. While they may seem like a waste of space, they are a necessary evil. Many upcoming neighborhoods got rid of their gas stations and residents now have to drive far to refuel.
