One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

I imagine when this thing is lit up at night you're really going to be able to see the difference between the floors with the overclad vs. the rest of the façade.

432 Park was the first to pass 1 WTC on roof height, since then 111 W 57th & Central park tower have also gone taller based on roof height. Skyscraper Page Diagram

There's also one in Amherst. Significantly less traffic but it was a definite improvement over the previous intersection.

    Quincy General Developments

Here's an updated article with some photos from the dedication last month. It's been a while since I've driven around that area, so pardon my ignorance on this question. Is this bridge actually needed? It's less than 600' from two other bridges & I don't see how it will improve throughput...

    San Francisco high-rise sinking, tilting

Basically you take it down the same way you built it, just in reverse. The J.P. Morgan Chase headquarters on 270 Park Ave was completely demolished over the last couple years to make way for a new tower. Here's a NY YIMBY article with some good pictures. There's obviously a bunch of different...

Middlesex County Courthouse Redevelopment | 40 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

Understood, but I took first street to mean both sides of first street, which puts you basically on the waterfront near the southern end of first. I think taller is fine. Getting rid of the super blocks is great, but 30-50 story buildings just doesn't fit in the area. A few 10-20 story buildings...

Middlesex County Courthouse Redevelopment | 40 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

I think this would be a huge mistake. One of my biggest gripes about North Brooklyn is all the new towers along the waterfront that effectively wall off the rest of the neighborhood from the water. I would hate to see this happen to any Boston area neighborhood.

It's going to look like a precast/curtainwall sandwich.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I mean, it's not exactly breaking it's just dirty. I'm guessing that each time you wanted to clean it you would have to set up scaffold or swing staging, plus protection for the platform/tracks below on top of the labor & materials, you're probably looking at a few hundred thousand to clean that...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

The bus terminal already has substantial exhaust infrastructure in place, and to stefal's point, the engine's back in so their exhaust is towards the southern end of the terminal. If you've ever caught a glimpse of the south facing side of the bus terminal you'll see the built up soot from when...

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

It looks like from this picture by DZH22 that the structure fore the over clad is already in place. So I wouldn't expect them to change designs at this point. I always wondered if they would fit out the lower portion & relocate the remaining tenants to the lower floors before starting on...

South Boston Innovation Campus | 2 Harbor Street | Seaport

Answered my own question. I thought it was just re-purposed snow making equipment but it looks like they make similar products that are purpose built for dust control.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Keep in mind that in order to support the weight of all those busses, they need to install some deep trusses which you can see in some of the pictures that Beeline posted. Along track 1 & 2 where they won't be need to support the weight of the bus terminal I'm willing to bet that keeping the...

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

I wouldn't get the pitch forks out just yet. There's a solid chance they decided to lump in the GSA terrace with the overall renovation after the initial designs & we'll see some new landscaping go back there.

Driving by Rowes Wharf and looking to see if the flag was up in the arch was always a milestone for me on our family trips to NH.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Any idea what the little tower is in this picture? It looks like it's built around/supported by a piece of HSS in the middle. Been racking my brain and just can't picture what this will be used for.
