Oh I saw the consturction (I live a bit further down off Centre), I just wish they would do something with two surface parking lots facing the road.

So this one is about to start being demolished I guess: However, I don't think there has been any update as to the status of the Goddard house next door: Also wish the feds would do something with these parking lots:

I'm pretty sure that it has always been planned as a phased development, but it certainly has at least since the change in design.

I can't you why the City framed the RFP the way they did, but I'm pretty sure this proposal was in response to a tailored "Green District" (net/zero/sustainable - whatever you want to call it) RFP (much like some of the newer condo's across Columbus Ave in Roxbury)

I would consider Northeastern's planned science center to be a much better barometer of what its architectural goals/standard are. Now if that gets VE'd to death then I think you complaints are much more valid.
