Berklee Expansion Plans | Back Bay

I have to say I almost always agree with your comments, but here I must disagree. I detest the arcade: It's dark and dingy, and it's jarring to the streetwall. Awnings do a much better job, at least visually.

It has looked that way for as long as I can remember...way back when it was a Bond Clothing Store.

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Re: Filene's Let's get a few things straight: Part of the building's significance lies in the fact that it was designed by Daniel Burnham. It was attached to one structure that was built in 1952, and another constructed in 1971. Neither building was decrepit.

Suffolk Dorms / Modern Theatre | Washington St | Downtown Crossing

Re: Suffolk Dorms / Modern Theatre ER.....Those lions now in front of the Copley Plaza were once on the north side of Boylston Street between Dartmouth and Exeter. I'm not aware that they were ever located at the Boston Opera House on Hungtington Avenue.

    Gigantic plans for Westbrook

There's no need for Westbrook to feel "jealous and insignificant". It is, after all, a different animal. I'll try to research older density figures for the North End. This may be difficult, but I'll give it my best.

Liberty Mutual Tower | 157 Berkeley Street | Back Bay

Re: Liberty Mutual plans major Boston expansion You could add another twenty floors to this proposal, and there's still no way shadows would be created on The Common or Public Garden....even in mid December! This is simply a disingenuine and ludicrous notion.

    Gigantic plans for Westbrook

By the way, Boston as a whole city currently sports a density of 13,313 per square mile. Population-wise, Boston has gone from the position of number one in the country to number 25, and is back up to number 20. As a CSA, Boston ranks number 5, adding close to 100,00 more people in the...
