    BCEC expansion | Seaport

I've always thought attaching the casino to the convention center expansion was the most logical place for it.

I don't think the long low rise and reflecting pool isolate anything.

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea (Study Meeting) Why is moving the commuter rail station away from the residential area and putting in the middle of the wasteland a good thing? The logical place for it is between Washington and Broadway with direct access to both streets. I guess the T really wants...

    Gov't Center Station Rebuild

My point was more that if taking the T is slower than jogging at a leisurely pace, they shouldn't be dumping money into vanity projects.

    Gov't Center Station Rebuild

It seems like no big deal if you didn't have to transfer at Gov't Center as part of your commute before the shut. Right now it is taking me about 1 1/2 hours to get to work a distance of about 7 miles. The T should not be spending money on anything that does not improve or expand service...

    The Tobin Bridge Thread

And they manage to do it without closing lanes and causing a big hoopla, or it even really being noticeable that they are doing it. I think the they are also fixing rust on the Tobin, which would be less of a problem if they continuously painted it like the GG?

    Biking in Boston

Unless it is an empty sidewalk is in a suburban development of some sort, it is usually not a good idea to ride on them because people aren't expecting a bike to come barreling along and they can make sudden stops and turns, leading to accidents. You could ride on the sidewalk really slow, but...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

Forget about digging a tunnel and have the blue line pop out of the ground after Bodoin and have a an elevated concrete structure (which can be pretty light and unobtrusive) carry it down Cambridge st and merge with the red line before charles/mgh. The blue line trains would pull up to the...

    Roxbury parcels 9 & 10 | Melnea Cass Blvd | Roxbury

Melnea Cass needs this up and down the entire length. The roadway isn't really that wide. If it was lined with buildings and had normal sidewalks, it would lessen the barrier/highway effect it has going on now.

The Definitive ArchBoston Tall vs Small Debate Thread

Great cities are made by what the experience of being in the city on the streets is like, not by what it looks like from a distance, which could include skyscrapers or not. I am not good at making arguments, so I will leave you with some words of wisdom from the gay anthem of 2001. "Always...

The Definitive ArchBoston Tall vs Small Debate Thread

La defense is totally the worst part of Paris and London has a smattering of tallish buildings and one really tall one. And that one really tall one isn't part of the distinctive skyline that London is known for... that would be the london eye, st pauls, tower bridge and the houses of...

The Definitive ArchBoston Tall vs Small Debate Thread

It kinda seems like you place too much importance on skyscrapers and worry too much about something you have no control over. I don't understand why it is so crucial that Boston have some sort of mega skyline. Awesome cities like Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, London... have no distinctive skyline at...
