Is it truly economics or more to do with a historic pre-war style unique to NYC, particularly UWS/UES? Where in Boston would these types of buildings naturally fit outside the Back Bay, which has no parcels for development? Perhaps anything Boston Common adjacent.

Creepiest, dingiest pool ever — dark, depressing, shallow. Neither good for recreational purposes or exercise. I’m sure those who use pools regularly prefer what replaced it on West Campus if for nothing else than 21st century standards of living.

It made sense there when this side of Commonwealth was auto-centric. The architectural aesthetic is cool, then and now. Really wish more buildings outside of LA or South Florida were saved from that movement.

Silver Spring should be a popular Purple Line stop with a direct connection to Metro. This makes me a bit envious for what could be across Cambridge, Somerville etc.
