I think the brick work gives this building an interesting texture, but those vertical control joints totally ruin the effect. These could have been masked pretty easily by incorporating buttresses/bump outs. It just looks sloppy and not fully thought-out, design-wise, to me.

Of course I'm still around, man. I read/admin the board every day, even if I'm not posting so much lately. The awards will definitely be back this year. There will also likely be some other changes coming to the site as well, for the better. And if anyone has any questions or comments for me...

I like the tower quite a bit. I think it would serve as a nice contrast among downtown's boxes. I'm a little skeptical that the cantilevers and all those curves will survive VE, though. I'm not a fan of the base, which already looks dated.

It wouldn't be nearly as cringey if there was an actual boulevard anywhere near this.

^Lol! Center Plaza's worst sin isn't it's colonnade. That would be the fact the building walls in the beautiful Adams Courthouse a la The Cask of Amontallado. These proposed improvements to it's street level are welcome but they're mere bandaids. This building is just too long, too boring, too...
