MXD II (Google Kendall) | 325 Main St. | Kendall Square | Cambridge

I dont hate it. I feel like Kendal is shifting into an evil space invasion aesthetic with those new MIT buildings. And as a glass box at least its an evil space invasion glass box that matches the theme.

are mass timber buildings legal in ma?

    Newton Infill and Small Developments

I mean, LOVE the massing and program tho, nice to have options for people in the middle. And maybe itl end up freeing up some single families. The cladding . . . at least its creative and doesnt seem to be in a high profile location. I hate ugly cladding in Boston but this place seems pretty...

The Robinson | 656 Ocean Ave | Revere

I feel like if we were giving yimby awards Revere would be second place for the inner towns after Everett

Ragon Institute | 624 Main Street | Kendall Square

Good point. You're right that its better than a bland glass box and I guess realistically for a large office/lab space that would be the alternative.

Ragon Institute | 624 Main Street | Kendall Square

I feel like its an attractive modernist sculpture, and would look awesome . . . in like Miami or LA . . .

    1 - 101 Main St. | Broad Canal Zoning + Development | Cambridge

I think this project makes sense on a macro level: dense office space near transit, although the general office/ residential imbalance is another, maybe bigger macro issue, but anyway no one's talking about that and housing cost will continue upward. But I dont buy that a wall of office blocks...

National Development Mixed-Use | 323-345 Dorchester Avenue | South Boston

I just wish they would position the streets with an upward gradiant toward the back to facilitate building over the tracks eventually.

Midtown Hotel Redevelopment | 220 Huntington Avenue | Back Bay

I like the massing, especially the undulating facade. I like the texture. It does seem to be done in a way that would be conducive to plastic panels . . . bleght . . . such a high profile location . . hope they can at least do terra cotta or even precast concrete panels in the front.

    Barry's Corner Mixed-Use | 180 Western Avenue | Allston

Looks great to me. I love the massing. Very urban but also pretty dense. I dont mind the generic facade. Thats what makes a neigborhood, is a pattern of similar buildings shaped by the style and economics of the times.

SKY Everett | 114 Spring Street | Everett

This is not a speculative long term plan. Its happening now. The area has OK to poor transit. But its the only place near Boston that is allowing large scale development and so far that seems to be enough. Everett is the short term future of urbanism in the region. Woburn is the longer term...

MXD II (Google Kendall) | 325 Main St. | Kendall Square | Cambridge

cant tell if your being sarcastic. I think the bright green is just a temporary construction wrapping. It has a product name on it.

Leggat McCall | BHA Bunker Hill | Charlestown

    i like. facade less random.

One Mystic | 1 Mystic Avenue | Charlestown

Its not the style I would pick, but its definitely not the worst of whats going up, and this is the perfect location for that much denisty. At least its not several different facades. Also 695 units is awesome!!! Horay high rises that actually achieve some density in stead of empty sky...

    Channelside (née P&G) | 244-248 A Street | Fort Point

Like the massing changes. Dislike but dont hate the facade changes. Randomer and cheaper than initial renders but way better than most recent development. These should be handsome additions to the city.

Canopy by Hilton (née Haymarket Hotel) | Blackstone St | Parcel 9 | Greenway

Mostly im a yimby. Sometimes i'm a nimby. Haymarket has a lot of nice memories for me. And it kinda gave a feeling of permanence/continuity because it had a lot of nice memories for my mom too. (ditto filenes basement.) This project makes me sad . . . I know haymarket will still be there ...

ACC/NU Residence Hall | 840 Columbus Ave | Northeastern University

I like the new massing better. And the facade looks less random.
