    Green Line Reconfiguration

So... what you're saying is... bring back the elevated? Gotcha. I agree.

The Alcott (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

This design is easily 15 years out of date.
  3. A

Kindred Hospital Site Redevelopment | 1515 Commonwealth Ave. | Brighton

Agreed, but it's genuinely odd how the project draws your eye in towards the center - where they placed the cheapo Alucobond box.

    Allston Green | 24 Linden & 8-20 Pratt Street | Allston

The need to add frames around every two stories is really tiresome. We've been seeing the same shit for like 20 years now.

MBTA Fare System (Charlie, AFC 2.0, Zone, Discounts)

Don't worry, AFC 2.0 will be accepted on the Commuter Rail in Summer of 2007.

Mission Hill Infill and Small Developments

This is so jarring and awful. There's nothing redeemable about what they did here. Cheap and nasty.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Jake: How often does the train go by? Elwood: So often that you won't even notice it.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

This would be a really good time to repave the Silver Line Transitway. It desperately needs it, and we're never going to see it this quiet again.

Marine Wharf (Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites) | 660 Summer St | Seaport

Back of the Hill was arguably better when it had just a bare concrete facade.

Marine Wharf (Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites) | 660 Summer St | Seaport

This facade is miserable. Anyone still putting up buildings like this should be embarrassed.

Hanover St "Tower" | 244 Hanover St | North End

I petition to rename this thread: Hanover St Supertall | 244 Hanover St | North End
  12. A

    Cambridge Crossing (NorthPoint) | East Cambridge/Charlestown | Cambridge/Boston

The sheds aside, everything above follows the miserable Kendall Square / Rt. 128-style architectural motifs. It's all really, really soulless and looks like something you'd see go up 10-15 years ago in a place nobody wants to be after 5 pm on a weekday.

    XenForo Update

Would it be possible to enable HTTPS?

NEMA Boston | 399 Congress St. | Seaport

This looks like a moldy leftover of the Park Lane era.
  15. A

The Boulevard (née The Times/Littlest Bar) | 110 Broad St | Downtown

The building just needs more texture above ground level. Flat composite paneling is never going to look better than expensive vinyl siding. Look at 10 Farnsworth or The Gables for examples of how a little variation in depth can make a huge difference.

Gables Seaport (née Waterside Place 1B) | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

The facade is awesome and a great counterpoint to the misery of Phase 1.
  17. A

    Suspended Monorail

They feature quite prominently in the Truffaut version of Fahrenheit 451.
  18. A

Columbus Ave Student Housing | 10 Burke St | Northeastern University

The white part of the building screams "this is where our budget ran out".
  19. A

10 World Trade | BGI Office Tower (Massport Parcel A2) | Seaport

My main reservation is the street activation seems lacking in all the renders. Glassed-in lobbies are miserable for surrounding streets. I think we know better and can do better.
