I thought this must have been labeled as the wrong city but nope, these are really here. Pic is from 2020 though. Were they repainted something lamer since then? the luxury town houses by wayne chen, on Flickr Here's they are in streetview, granted totally washed out with the sun's rays...

Dot Block | Dot Ave, Greenmount St, Hancock St | Dorchester

Wow, 637 units across the state's flagship city, what an incredible "commitment" by Mayor Wu! For reference (to be fair it's an AI Overview thing) google is telling me there are approximately 160,000 people on the waiting list. So wow, after Mayor Wu solves all of our problems with her...

Middlesex County Courthouse Redevelopment | 40 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

I drove by this last night and what stood out to me was that all the floors still had the construction lighting. Does anybody know when this is actually supposed to open? I guess I just assumed it was closer to done since it's been externally completed for months.

How Tall Are Boston's Buildings and Should They Be Taller?

Comparing old diagrams it looks like the Prudential was the 12th tallest building in the world when completed in 1964, but actually 9th tallest excluding spires. In fact, excluding spires it was the tallest building in the world outside NYC. When completed in 1976, despite the ~3 year delay...

Residential Development | 745 Concord Ave | Cambridge

The main problem with the general area is that the rotaries get very backed up already and nothing has been done to alleviate the traffic issues. Constant red lights for pedestrians leave that area at a standstill for much of the day. They really need another outlet to Route 2 somehow. Unsure...

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

Within a few years I suspect that nickname will be "That women's soccer team that played here for a couple years before folding and leaving the city to foot the bill for the stadium."

Equality Community Center | 23-25 Casco Str. | Portland

This was originally proposed over 5 years ago, and the very first post says it's "slated to begin construction in early 2021." So in 5 years we got the design updated from a tacky 4-over-1 to a bland 4-over-1. What the heck happened here?

    Quincy General Developments

There's still 2 Border Cafe locations remaining, in Burlington and Saugus. The menu is ridiculously cheap for a sit-down restaurant.

Assembly Square Infill and Small Developments | Somerville

Why just 8 stories of residential? It seems like a waste of space when it could easily be 20+ stories.

Alexandra Hotel Renovation | 1769 Washington St | Roxbury

The taller portion was originally approved in 2022. They had a long time to get this right. We're better off getting a restoration with the smaller addition than nothing at all, but the chances were there and the taller vision should have been built.

Potential Soccer Stadium | Portland peninsula

If it's $270 for all 6 games then you could go to one and sell the other 5 on a secondary site. Play your cards right and you might even end up making money. Not at all the same as $270 for one ticket.

Northeastern University - Institutional Master Plan

4,050 seats for hockey and 5,300 for basketball. I have never been to watch either sport at Northeastern but I assume the hockey games must be more popular, right? It's a more competitive team overall, with legitimate national title aspirations compared to the basketball team. 4,050 is pretty...

This site was the replacement. It didn't cannibalize anything. I believe the person who ran Skyscraperguy stopped supporting the website for one reason or another (some combination of time and money). Archboston was launched to keep the forum going.
