    Dorchester Infill and Small Developments

Interesting proposal. It *looks* like they might be pulling back the first floor to align with the expanded sidewalks that Dot Block has. Would prefer this be 4 stories just to help set a precedent that taller is fine here. Would prefer not tearing down a residential building for a parking lot...

    Roslindale Infill and Small Developments

This feels like a "buy the church a new roof and we're good to go" type of project.

    Dorchester Infill and Small Developments

I don't like the "we're looking for a very specific tenant" mentality. At the neighborhood association meeting, they said they were aiming for something that "won't compete" with existing nearby businesses (no restaurant basically). That usually means a bank is coming... Having competing...

    Biking in Boston

Boston has a 7.5ft min width for bike lanes (likely 5ft paved, with concrete clear zones each side) so that they can be plowed and swept. Can't imagine it would be narrower than that here. There is an upcoming meeting in March about the project, but they've already awarded the contract so where...

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

I'm glad this was approved despite the optics they created. I never understood why they chose to highlight the angle that makes it tower over its abutter on all outreach documents when from the other angle it's only 1 story taller than the existing 100-year old apartment building.

Downtown/Financial district infill and small developments

I think this is a useful thread. I get that you think that small downtown projects might not be an efficient use of space, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

South Boston Innovation Campus | 2 Harbor Street | Seaport

The articles/documents about this were a bit confusing and honestly it took me some time to understand if this was "new". This building appears to always have been "proposed" as indicated in the original PNF and documents for its under construction neighbor. The update is just that they've...

Downtown/Financial district infill and small developments

I cannot figure out where these ones could possibly be. Streetview doesn't show anything that looks workable?

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I still think it would be great (even if just for non-revenue moves) to connect the D to E via Washington/Huntington.

Malden + Melrose Infill and Small Developments

I wonder how the proposal could change if they acquire that other parcel behind them that they refer to. A path along the tracks to the station would also be nice here.

Why are there so many huge white tents all over the site?

    The New Retail Thread

Something is up in the South End... specifically at the Pledge of Allegiance building (let's call it the Club Cafe building for obvious reasons) - 142 Berkeley St. - the furniture store on the first floor recently closed and is empty - Fenway Health announced they will be closing the office this...

WFO/WFH Trends among aB community in 2024

I've been in the office every day for the last year and a half. We have the option to do up to 2 days at home (scheduled) and occasional from home days as needed with 24hrs notice (for appts and whatnot). Every time I WFH though, I hate it. Insane number of distractions (laundry, other chores...

    Norwood infill and small developments

I read this a couple days ago then recently read the Globe article on Steward's health as a company. I was so confused because the Globe article does not mention that Steward is rebuilding this hospital. It just notes that Norwood Hospital was closed due to flooding (and leaves the reader...

The results of the neighborhood association vote were: Support: 6 Opposed: 21 Abstain: 1 Invalid: 5. You can only vote if you attend (in person or online) and you can't submit votes before or after the meeting if you're busy that night. Live vote only via in-person or google sheet in the meeting...

I believe it's left on Magazine, right on Franklin, right on River, with a new layover spot on River.

    River Street Redesign | Cambridge

I can't find the slide from the presentation (the City's website for this is terrible), but buses won't be making that turn.
