Amazon Office Tower I | 111 Harbor Way (Seaport Square Parcel L4) | Seaport

"Looks like it has taken on the the shape of THIS former building!! WTC 3!!" Not seeing it, but...thanks for your insight?

Love the photos, Baumeister, thanks! Does anyone know when we can (might?) expect this to go vertical?

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

I agree, though it'd be interesting to see what some alternatives might have looked like. I'd have been a fan of deep green in homage to the Celtics, or Black & Gold for the Bruins, etc., as possibilities. I'm not even a big sports fan; I just like the civic aspect. But I definitely agree...

That's because you are TRYING to understand. The solution is to give up on thinking altogether [Boston BDPA: Logic hath been forsaken here].

South Station Tower won't begin rising until 2022, even if all goes smoothly between now and then, but (to state the obvious) each week brings us one week closer. I'm still holding out some semblance of hope for the Harbor Garage Tower, mostly because I'm a sucker for self-abuse, but that might...

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

Wow, wow, and wow. The only thing that looks good in that picture is the North Avenue Bridge (which, as irony would have it, is the one thing in that photo that has managed to get less attractive SINCE 1976, owing to deterioration).

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Just as a reminder: On Sept. 23, S&F Concrete's FB post referenced the concrete work that they had returned to doing. I posted the question on their page: "Has Winthrop Tower officially (or even unofficially) started construction back up?" Steve Monteiro, who works for them, replied "Yes."

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

You were right, liplipliplip --- some major steel started rising this weekend. Not the best photo (lighting wasn't ideal), but I tried to get the same angle as Nibbles's photo [Liplip...Nibbles...I'm starting to think I work in a pet store. Or a 1980s' strip club. But I digress]. Anyway...

Does anybody here have a sense (based on knowledge of the legal world) when the current lawsuits will be ruled upon in court (or settled outside of court as part of a shakedown). It strikes me that IF the lawsuits fail, then the hurdles to get approval will be virtually non-existent (even...

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

With tomorrow being the deadline for submitting comments, please note that the Pinnacle website now has a 'fool-proof' system for submitting comments (for those who, like me, spent a few minutes trying to find the correct location on the BRA website). From an email I received today: "Submit...

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

Mike, I hope you shared similar sentiments (and the visual exhibits that you wonderfully captured) with the BRA and the state. Your rant was full of lucid sanity; it's the evidence on the ground (which, again, you perfectly captured) that renders the NIMBY arguments to be sheer lunacy.

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

FWIW, here's what I wrote (not the most articulate, but it is what it is): For the length of my life, a hulking garage has sat, like a monolithic block, providing nothing of value to the public except the utilitarian function of parking. Today, there is a chance to finally 'bury' this eyesore -...

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

If we ever hope to see this project materialize, then hopefully bumping this thread with this reminder is justified: The period for public commentary is closing at the end of this week (Friday, Oct. 9th). An excerpt from an email sent by the Pinnacle's Development Team: "As always, we are...

Good news: on S&F Concrete's FB post I asked, " Has Winthrop Tower officially (or even unofficially) started construction back up?" Steve Monteiro, who works for them, replied "Yes."

Question: "I believe the easement ends in 2021, after 50 years." When the Towers lose their parking easement, is that any type of a game-changer for strengthening Don's position? Don's hands are tied forever due to the mechanicals easement, but will the Tower residents have one of their...

West Cambridge / Alewife Area Infill & Small Developments

'Charlie', I completely agree with your description of Cambridge and Arlington. Can you explain the role that Arlington has played in the debacle that is the Alewife area? I'm trying to think of what Arlington could do given that Route 2 is a highway until it hits Cambridge, and all of...

Iron Works | 323-365 Dorchester Ave | South Boston

"At 254 feet, the building would be several stories shorter than the 300 feet allowed under the Dorchester Avenue overlay zoning." In terms of density, I don't get the logic here. I don't doubt that there is a reason for leaving that much potential $ off the table, but I'm sincerely hoping...
