    Worcester Ballpark & Redev

I would be surprised if the "Woo Sox" don't sell out most of their home games when they move to Worcester. I am curious if this stadium can have soccer matches or football games too during the off season. Maybe Worcester can now lure the Revolution too.

    Worcester Ballpark & Redev

I love the look of this stadium so far. My main concern is why the capacity is only 10k?? Same capacity as McCoy stadium. I was thinking they could have maybe had 12-15k for seating as I am sure tickets are going to be popular for at least the first 10 years of Polar Park. Just seems very short...

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Quite disappointing in the height of these buildings on Fore street. Too bad there will not be any high rise (10 plus stories) on this site. The culture in urban Maine is terrified of anything with height. This project has tons of potential but the anti-development groups have city hall and...

    Worcester Infill and Developments

Please note when looking at a cities square miles that you don't include water. Boston is 49 sq miles of land (roughly the same land area as San Fran) and Portland Maine is only 21 sq miles of land. Worcester is compact, tons of triple Decker's and row houses, the city of seven hills, very...

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

I agree with you guys. I was in Lubbock Texas and the population is about 200k. But the downtown commerce wasn't even close to Portland, more like downtown Brattleboro with a few 15-25 stories buildings. Plus the culture of west Texas is fairly blah. Buddy Holly museum is nice but the rest...

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Any word of the so called 18-20 something story building off of Congress street? Glad to hear the time and temp building is getting some TLC.

    Thompson's Point, Portland

Regarding Thompson's Point, is the arena/event center part of this dead? I am still curious if a new arena will get built in Portland in the next 10 years. I know the city renovated the CCC a few years back. But that was a waste of money if you ask me. Build 10-12k seat arena with all the bells...

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Has anyone heard any news of a Hadlock field major renovation? Seems that it is time for a major over haul. Portland would be perfect for a waterfront ball park too.

I really hope this stadium is bigger capacity than McCoy stadium. I think 12-15k capacity makes sense. I know they are saying 10k but that seems too small for a AAA team.

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Has anyone heard any news about the 20 story skyscraper/high rise that was rumored for the old port? I hope it gets done! I drove through Portland a month ago and was impressed with all the construction going on. I live in Manchester, NH and Portland feels much more urban than Manchvegas. What...

    Worcester Infill and Developments

From this angle the stadium looks bigger than 10,000@ capacity. I am sure they could build it closer to 15,000. McCoy already holds 10k. Just seems short sighted to build another 10k stadium. This is exciting news for Worcester regardless. Go WooSox!

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Yes, these wimps are to blame for rents being so high in Portland. I hope they scrap the 6 story apartments part of the midtown project and come back with 14 story towers that are not some brick looking fortress. This would help calm the rental demand. But the antidevelopment folks would lose...

    Portland International Jetport | PWM

I heard the reason why it is called "Jetport" instead of Airport was not to confuse customers with Portland Oregon. Regardless it makes for a unique name for a terrific small Airport.

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

To my understanding many "out of staters" want to build their McMansion or luxury condo then stop any development that could block their self entitled view/Vista of the peninsula. This mentality will lead to Portland being similar to San Francisco where only the 1% can afford it. And no, I...

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Hopefully the 23 story building near the Arena gets approved. Portland has so much potential to become a mid sized city, but these out of staters are creating this anti development culture.

    Worcester Infill and Developments

Does anyone know what year they took the floor seats out of the main auditorium? I saw those pics before of the CBA team. I also wonder if the place was ever renovated? The current seats in the Aud look like they might have been put in the 1960s. A side note I remember almost going to see the...

Does anyone have any pictures of the Aud when it hosted basketball games? I would love to see this place renovated into a concert venue/music Hall.

    Portland - Civic Center

New foundland is a great part of Canada...even though they call it "the West Virginia of Canada".... But they are salt of the earth fun loving people from what I have seen. My wife is part Newfie. As far the Cross Insurance Arena being home to the Nordiques farm team I think it would come...
