165 Washington Ave | Northern Burner Supply Redevelopment | Portland

Unless I'm way off (which is entirely possible... likely even...) it seems like they may not be using the entire lot. Or what I assume is the entire lot:

I can try to do my traditional blobs in Google Earth tomorrow - I was also wondering what the height looks like from the East End School and the community gardens. If they block the view of the skyline that may also be fodder for push back.

Maine Public Broadcasting Bldg. | 25 Commercial St. | Portland

On the one hand I'm disappointed that the 25 Commercial St building isn't happening, on the other hand I don't hate this reuse of the Public Market building, on the third hand I still like the Public Market as a Public Market best and any other use of that space will be a little disappointing...

165 Washington Ave | Northern Burner Supply Redevelopment | Portland

Map/Text Amendment in CSS posted yesterday lists this project as 7 story, 320 units with 80 deed-restricted workforce units and ground floor retail... still can't find renderings...

    Freeport Village Center

New manager of a downtown Freeport shopping center looks to increase visibility Forgot to post this when it happened - Freeport Village Station sold at the foreclosure auction for $20M (!) to Wilder Cos out of Boston. Some generic statements from Wilder about plans:

    Biddeford/Saco Developments

This was it for me when I was in the area more. Not that it needs to feel urban, but it needs to be more pedestrian friendly. Any not that there aren't areas in Portland that are unfriendly, see Franklin or Commercial.

Port of Portland | Working waterfront and future developments

I guess this is going to be the public pier?

Infill and Small Developments | Portland

Great building - this would have to be at least 300 units, it's huge.

The issue better be that they aren't high enough.

165 Washington Ave | Northern Burner Supply Redevelopment | Portland

In lieu of actual renderings... I'd love to see the main car barn bay integrated as the main entrance - retail in the side bays.

Herald Square | 385 Congress St | Portland

It seemed like half of the discussion at the last PB meeting was about if they needed to revisit the MDP or not - it seems like they are going to given the number/type of changes (particularly ones like switching from market rate to affordable. They also said, though, they can revisit/amend the...

Port of Portland | Working waterfront and future developments

Maybe not - the article pegs the revenue change on declining rates, which have been elevated for many global reasons. Doesn't say anything about a volume change.

Portland Foreside | 58 Fore Street | Portland

Does anyone know the extent to which this development has plans to prevent flooding? I haven't listened to all the meetings, but I don't recall hearing much/any discussion about it. As it stands in 2024, storm surge - particular with the astronomical high tide - easily makes it to the path, even...

Infill and Small Developments | Portland

PHDC is proposing to demolish these four buildings and build a new 50-unit - I think there is a recent Press Herald article about rampant mold issues in them, so this is definitely a good thing.
