691 Mass Ave | South End

Re: 691 Mass Ave I'd call this one a success. Although the white/red paneling contrast is a bit awkward.

    Urban Mountain Biking in Seattle

This is so damn cool. Where in Boston could something like this be implemented? A unregulated zone where bikers could takeover and make their own playground? Colonnade Park, Seattle

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

Re: Copley Place plan calls for condo tower Seriously, tons of building buzz (I guess, relative tons) going on. This, Kensington, Seaport STREET SIGN, and a few others with steel going up.

Ink Block (Boston Herald) | 300 Harrison Avenue | South End

Re: Boston Herald property sold Woah. Neighbors criticizing something as "suburban" because they lack density? I'm shocked. That's awesome.

GrandMarc Residence Hall (YMCA) @ Northeastern U | 291 St. Botolph Street | Fenway

Re: YMCA/ Northeastern Dorm (formerly GrandMarc at St. Botolph) You could blame that lack of retail and street-life as much on the university as you could on the city and the neighbors, I think.

I don't know what that is, but it seems like a facadectomy of a facade not worth saving.

GrandMarc Residence Hall (YMCA) @ Northeastern U | 291 St. Botolph Street | Fenway

Re: YMCA/ Northeastern Dorm (formerly GrandMarc at St. Botolph) In hindsight, if no one else is bothered by the discussion, we should continue. I edited my post. (Maybe this is what the site was missing for so long.)

Someone needs to take the "Photo of the Day" threads and just make them a Tumblr already.

GrandMarc Residence Hall (YMCA) @ Northeastern U | 291 St. Botolph Street | Fenway

Re: YMCA/ Northeastern Dorm (formerly GrandMarc at St. Botolph) Maybe by urban standards Northeastern has a large enrollment, but by national standards, it seems very much in the middle. 15,095 is the number Collegeboard has, I tend to consider >22,000 as "large." There's about 32,000 people at...

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

I forgot about that chandlery. It was always fun to drive by when my parents took me through the city when I was little. But I guess it's pretty difficult to support business when rent increases and the foot traffic shrinks. Became a destination shop, and I'd figure most people who want ship...

Extreme Sailing does have very strong ties to the organization of the Volvo Ocean Race, so it is a possibility. Smaller boats, shorter distances, more action - arguably more fun for fans because it's so much more accessible to watch.

The words of a scared, little man, coming to the realization that he is a bumbling moron and has no legitimate control over the city he runs.

    Fan Pier Developments | Seaport

I got to take a tour of Neoscape a few years back, absolutely remarkable stuff. On a side note, if you get the chance, the Extreme Sailing Series is far more exciting than the Volvo Ocean Race, at least in terms of the sailing. Maybe not the same fanfare, but much more accessible, since the...

    Fenway Infill and Small Developments

No! Why can't this city ever realize when they have a good thing, they need to let it happen? I'm beginning to appreciate building codes and zoning less and less.

Um...why is the Archive so much prettier? Lighter colors, fewer links, mirrored logo... Someone bring back photo essays? I'd do them but I doubt anyone is very interested in midwestern college town planning.
