I commuted through South Station in the 70’s and 80’s. Before the renovation the place was a dump. The only two businesses I remember were a bar called “The Side Car” and a coffee and bakery stand.

World class building.

I hear what you’re saying King Vibe. I recently lived in a brand new 4 story stick built apartment building. You could hear every noise in that structure. The noises above and below were extremely annoying. I have often wondered why we can’t build with concrete like they do in Florida.

At first I thought that this building was too busy looking but I’m starting to like it now. It definitely says “Look at me”.

It looks similar to the bracing at The Hub on Causeway.

I think that the size of the windows and their depth make this building really pop.

For what it’s worth. I commuted to Boston’s financial district for 13 years and I loved it. I did work from home at one time and found it boring. The only companionship I had was our family cat lol.

The cladding seems to be taking forever.

Based somewhat on the timeframe for the Government Center garage demo, this could take awhile. I wish they had an empty lot to work with. I’m very excited to see this building rise.

It’s like Manhattan. They have impressive buildings but you can’t see them because they’re all blocked from view.

Beyond description. I absolutely love Boston.

I am just amazed that it took a company from out of town, not headquartered here, to put this building up. Why couldn’t GE do it? They are a Fortune 500 company and should have created a world class headquarters building in Boston. Instead they renovated some old candy factory. Go figure.

I used to shop at that hardware store back in the ‘80’s. It was a fun little diversion from work.

I was working right across the street at 225 Franklin St. when this building went up in the late 70’s. I was quite happy with the original but think that the new version looks decidedly better.
