Porter Square Infill and Small Developments

Only with this project would curtains be considered progress.

    Lexington Small Developments

I like the 1 space/unit parking ratio. Lexington, in spite of the recent backsliding, seems to be walking the walk on proper development.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I think the bus department likes the route planning freedom that the lack of fixed infrastructure provides. If they want to reroute a bus, they can simply tell the driver. Overhead wires get in the way of that.

Copley Square Revamp | Back Bay

The bridge needs to be rebuilt, or another solution implemented to reopen the shelter on Long Island.

    Portland Passenger Rail

The near inevitable transcontinental duopoly is only going to make branches less and less attractive. It’s all going to be high volume trunking and trans loading for the last mile.

I have seen exactly one image on this board which makes One Financial look good: http://archboston.com/community/threads/south-station-tower-south-station-air-rights-downtown.976/post-506575

Tufts Residence Hall | 401 Boston Avenue | Medford

I think the Prism residential building on Rogers St in Cambridge used a similar system.

    MBTA Construction Projects

The lack of communication from the T is frustrating. The MWRA used to present monthly status reports on the Boston Harbor Project, but they were subject to court supervision. At least the Pioneer Institute infested T used to publish routine updates on most projects.

Greenway Residential Building | 55 India Street | Downtown

I like the composition on the second photo. Nice alignment of the boom with One Post Office Square.

WBZ-TV/CBS Studio Development Project | 1170-2000 Soldiers Field Road | Allston

Chestnut Hill Infill and Small Developments

I know those are maximum build massing models, but I don’t have much confidence that the end result will be much different. If every building needs a bank of elevators and two stairwells, amortizing that across a block sized land scraper is more profitable than multiple different buildings per...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

Has she given a clear rationale for the about face? I have read about wanting more community engagement, but that’s a detail not a rationale.

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

Eng has built up a bunch of credibility with g the handling of partial shutdowns and surges. This would be a place to spend some of it.

Healthpeak Cambridge Point | Alewife Quadrangle | West Cambridge

15-20 minutes seems a little quick for the inner Healthpeak property. The substation blocks easy cut through from that property, so you need to head down to the donuts and back up over the tracks.

Dorchester Bay City (nee Bayside Expo Ctr.) | Columbia Point

Financially, it doesn’t pencil out these days for anything less than a megablock landscraper variant.

Should the Commonwealth centrally procure BEBs and parcel them out to the various transit agencies?
