    Logan Airport Capital Projects

Thanks for the photos, whighlander. The 1968 Boston based movie with Steve McQueen, The Thomas Crown Affair, had a scene filmed in my hometown and also had a scene of Faye Dunaway walking through that Eastern Airlines Terminal. Nice flashback.

Fort Point Infill and Small Developments

Love the warm, colorful brick in Beeline’s last photo. Without the preservation of old Boston, Boston loses much of its specialness. The demolition of the entire Dainty Dot building was an egregious error by the BPDA, in my opinion. When the day comes where Boston runs out of empty space such as...

This is why I’ve lost my appetite for this website - the ABC gang, the ArchBoston Caustics. When I first happened upon viewing this website, I initially thought it would be populated with opinions by professionals in the architectural field. How silly of me! It’s been hijacked by hackneyed...

    Boston Nightwalks

Thanks, much, I hemmed and hawed about posting these, thinking the photos might not be good enough. I’m thinking of replacing my Nikon Coolpix 7000 point-and-shoot with a camera like the Nikon D3400 with 24 mega-pixels. If I use a tripod, I won’t get around as much.

    Boston Nightwalks

Boston Nightwalks: A nod to American artist Edward Hopper’s, “Nighthawks”, a 1942 oil on canvas painting. Wikipedia: It has been described as Hopper's best known work[1] and is one of the most recognizable paintings in American art.[2][3] Within months of its completion, it was sold to the Art...

    Indianapolis, a Bike Haven City

HenryAlan, FK4, my threads don’t get nearly the number of clicks that other threads get so I really appreciate your comments. FK4, if you ever bike the Historic Connect Boston bike trail, I’d be interested in your opinion on how you think it compares to the Cultural Trail, even though you know...

    San Francisco high-rise sinking, tilting

Last night’s “60 Minutes” program - “Since our story first aired last fall, engineers have begun drilling beneath the Millennium Tower. They're testing a proposed fix for the tilting building, one that would extend the existing foundation all the way to, you guessed it, bedrock. There is still...

    Indianapolis, a Bike Haven City

Biking is such a great way to enjoy and explore the planet and to keep in shape. Appreciate the comment, Justin. It takes several hours putting together a one hundred plus photo thread; uploading photos to Flickr is the tedious, time-consuming part. I have an idea for one more photo thread, if...

    Indianapolis, a Bike Haven City

You’re right, pedestrian and vehicular traffic is light compared to what you see in Boston, on the other hand, it was a breeze driving around town and bicycling the Trail while not feeling deserted at the same time. Several of the first trail pictures were taken between seven and eight-thirty in...

    Indianapolis, a Bike Haven City

Indianapolis, A Bike Haven City: Indianapolis is probably best-known for the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, but, should also be recognized for its ambitious downtown Cultural Trail. A beautiful bike and pedestrian trail with an eight mile length, I don’t think that this trail takes a back...

With ubiquitous glass architecture present today, it’s nice to be able to fall back on Mr. Wright’s Prairie Style earth tones. Such a brand name.

Today’s garages look better than ever, the Harbor Garage could be dressed up similarly. The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy could hold a competition to brighten the facade of the Harbor Garage with graphics and non-blinking lights (this is Boston, not Vegas). The Greenway Conservancy is an art...
