Heh, yeah, to be clear I'm not officially nominating it. Just bringing it to people's attention. Not a big fan personally. But I recall there were pretty mixed reactions to this, and there might be enough interest out there to earn it a nomination... somewhere.

I was looking through a box of old 35mm photos and thought this one was interesting. July 1995. Seaport Hotel standing all by its lonesome. This was the very first "tower" to go up in the Seaport, 25 years ago. Some unfortunate artifacting on the left side of the photo, but hey, it's 35mm...

I agree with DZH22 about the Lucas. In fact I would say that I like it a lot. It manages to be both distinct from and tightly coupled to the original building, to be both quirky and dramatic. Love how the vertical beams mimic the buttresses below with their spacing and the tapered tops... hell...

Has the crown always looked like this? I've been under the impression that the glass curtain wall would conceal the mechanical screen everywhere except the gap in the building's east side. Looks here like the screen will be visible from most angles. That's unfortunate. It will detract from...

Wow, can't believe it's visible already. It's as tall as most of the West End mid-rises. Alcott is looking great from afar as well.
