WHY is the Waterview sign still up? Does anyone, including Allied/Cook Const. & CWS Architects (whose names are on the sign) think this project will ever happen?
He's a Scarborough developer. Builds these 1 story office space buildings in business parks and also residential stuff. I don't have a clue why he is trying to do a development intown Portland. I know of a couple of people that have had less than pleasurable experiences with the man as a...
Kerry Anderson  What he is trying to do to the guy at Portland Pie company is all you need to know about Kerry Anderson and the way he does business.
Cabela's (they hope) will be open May 2008. They started surveying last week.
The Super Wal Mart / Lowes project are at a standstill due to ground/soil problems that they need to address.
A real good view/angle to take a photo (steel structure) from is the large parking lot in back of Margaritas Rest. (Saint John Street) & Goodwill. I was down there at noon and it was fairly impressive. It looks much different/taller down there than from I-295.
Love it! Love all the Glass Curtainwall (not all brick - hooray!) Finally a signature type building down in that area. To bad it wasn't about 6 floors higher.
The owner of the property has 3 letters of intent to build a high end, long term stay hotel on the lower part of the large parking lot by 1 & 2 Portland Square. Part of the requirements is that they have to replace w/ a parking garage the amount of spaces that they take up w/ the hotel. One of...
Patrick, did you see the article in today's PPH ragarding the sale of the "Time and Temperature Building" at 477 Congress St. that it was sold to a group out of NY. Jeffrey Cohen bought in 2003 for $9.5 mil. and sold 3 years later for $13 mil. Not bad!! He says at the end of the article that...
Re: Don't knock yourself about it too much.
Add a Convention Center to the complex (as Joe Boulos had planned and Baldacci originally stated that Maine desperately needs) and just imagine the $$$ that would generate. Many people would attend a convention in Portland and then head upstate for a...
I can't see adding another 3 to 3.5 star hotel to the downtown, the only way to go would be a 4.5 to 5 star hotel and my guess would be that if Wayne Huizenga is involved that it might just be an upper scale hotel.
I am not holding my breath about a new arena anytime soon. I suspect when the...
If you look up Wayne Huizenga in Wikipedia it says that he sold his ownership interest in hotels back in 2004. He built Extended Stay America to 60 + locations & other hotels he was involved in were Hyatt, Radisson & Boca Raton Resort among others.
I say develop that whole parking lot w/ a...
3 PS is still being discussed but no firm commitments from a major tenant yet which would be necessary to make it happen.
Did not elaborate on large, but I would think it would be more in the way of height because of the possibility of 3PS. I would like to see a top of the hotel 360 degree view...
That was my first question. Why does Portland need another hotel and the answer I got was the demand is there. I could see the need if we had a mid-sized convention center. But Baldacci took care of that! :x
I would like to see Portland get a really high level hotel w/ a large first class...
I am told that a group owned by Wayne Huizenga (owns Miami Dolphins, Blockbuster Video, former hotel developer) has made a serious inquiry on the lower portion of the large parking lot where 1 & 2 Portland Square are located. They are interested in building a large hotel.
I would love to see the Goo Goo Dolls, but not in that dome/soccer field.
I see they have booked the Australian Pink Floyd Show there too. Somebody please tell them they are an athletic facility and not a concert arena!
