Idea for fixing the housing shortage

Correct, it's essentially a whole western-world problem at this point. I really, really struggle to see a lasting solution that isn't just, "the government builds the rental housing stock and rental prices are determined by policymakers and not markets."

Everett Transportation (SL3 extension, potential OLX/GLX, Sweetser Circle infill station)

I've done the whole map with the thick CR lines but later reverted it (except for Fairmount) given the abysmal service many stations on the map. If/when frequent(ish) service comes to other parts of the network, I can fairly easily adapt the map. But Back Bay-South Station just doesn't meet...

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

You could totally do it manually. Set the price to $25, release X amount of tickets, once those are sold out change the price, release more, etc etc.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

This just in, people do in fact want what they voted for.

And, crucially, paying for it. You know what the T doesn't pay for? Road maintenance for heavier BEBs. (For buses, I know the Green Line is different.)

    Redesign the Urban Ring

You're right in that the service pattern here leaves a lot to be desired for Everett, a revision to that is definitely needed. A BL extension would absolutely help with that but I've been trying to keep this scheme independent-yet-complimentary of other projects. I don't want this to be a whole...

    Redesign the Urban Ring

Finally back home so I can work on maps again. First up is a version of the 'Aqua Line' map that fixes all the glaring flaws + shows the JFK alternative. I also figure I should explain some of my station name choices: JFK Library/Columbia If there's a station closer to the JFK Library and...

    Gillette Stadium Transportatio Improvements

$150. So for all you single ticket holders, you're getting a great deal by taking the T. For everyone else, it's a wash at best.

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

Kind of disappointing that most staggered stops have been replaced by aligned stops. Also for a 'Consolidated Fairbanks Ave/Brandon Hall' that sure looks a lot like the exact spot Brandon Hall currently is...

Chestnut Hill Infill and Small Developments

So then I think a fun design challenge is how can you build quality urban space around a highway or highway-like road. Obviously a road diet is the easy design/hard political choice, so what's the opposite? How far can you get with footbridges, decking, sound barriers, etc?

And people also want leaders who don't just... abandon their platform when a minority (that voted for the losing candidate no less) complains. Essaibi-George and Kraft ran significantly if not primarily on pausing bike/transit project expansion in favor of car drivers, and lost. It would be more...

Everett Transportation (SL3 extension, potential OLX/GLX, Sweetser Circle infill station)

I know and I hate it but it's a deliberate choice, the 104 stays reasonably close to the SL3 all the way from Everett Sq to Airport, only about 5 mins max of walking except for Box District which is like 10 minutes away. Then again, this map lies about the 116 at Bellingham Sq, it's actually a...

Without the full CIP I don't know that it's possible to draw a definitive conclusion but from the slides it doesn't look any worse than the past couple CIPs, if anything it actually looks a bit better.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

I can't agree more (and not just because of the map). Art on transit is something I'm incredibly passionate about. People rejected the bland and flat functionality of functionalist modernism for a reason, we like to be in beautiful and pleasant spaces and exposure to art and architecture is a...

Is there a different document with other service plans? The 2003 EIS shows no Dudley-Boylston short turns.
