Looking forward to seeing this cladding in person. Is there anything similar in the area?

Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

The price per square foot for the market rate condos in this location should justify real brick… not panelling. This will be especially obvious given the proximity to the original building. One more example of a silly number of facade styles. At least it doesn’t have alternating windows.

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

Walked by in the last week or two. Still being used as a parking lot. No signs of movement.

80-100 Smith Street | Mission Hill

Unfortunately, this was not approved at the BPDA meeting last week. The Board was “disturbed” by the letters from the community alleging that they were not heard and not treated with respect. The Board voted to table the NPC to at least the next month to allow the developer to rebuild trust with...

Kendall Common Parcel C1 (née Volpe Center) | 25 Broadway | Kendall Square | Cambridge

Much better than alternating windows or floating boxes.

88 Seaport Blvd | Seaport Square Parcel D | Seaport

The glass in the “cut out” now extends all the way to meet the vertical facade on the top and bottom. This change was likely made to reduce the actual structural complexity and cost, rather than for architectural design purposes.

    Gillette leaving Southie.

FAR of 4.3 on 31 acres translates to roughly 5.8 million square feet. Numbers could always be higher, but I'd be hard pressed to complain about 5.8 million square feet of new development.

Looks like the Slurry is done. Another 4-6 months of digging and we should see a crane.

Simmons University Living and Learning Center | 300 Fenway | Longwood

Skanska pulled the building permit. Simmons has a live feed of the construction. Wish we could get more of these: https://dash.evercam.io/v2/projects/skans-hfoni/simmo-nehjq

That is definitely a facade sample for 350 Summer. And it is gorgeous.

Amazon Office II/SeaPAC | 1 Boston Wharf Rd. (Seaport Sq Parcel L5) | Seaport

10 World Trade still has a crane. Though probably not for much longer.

One Harbor Shore Dr. | Fan Pier Parcel H | 1 Harbor Shore Drive | Seaport

The developer just pulled the erection permit on Friday. Looks like this one is going to start ASAP.

Maybe WS knows that if they don't start foundation work on something now, there is a chance the great Seaport crane streak will end with 10 World Trade!

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

I've been getting increasingly anxious about this as there has been no visible progress since the first week of May. Two weeks ago, I reached out to JF White, the construction manager for the foundation and deck. No response. JF White was also hired to manage the Sumner Tunnel job. Might be...

Reserved Channel Development | 300 West First Street | South Boston

I think the 9 buildings refer to the total 42 acres controlled by OxP. The parcels bounded by E Street, West First, Pappas Way, and the access road for W.B. Mason is approximately 7 acres. The 8 acre project site might also include the Verizon garage? We will know soon enough. Exciting stuff.

    Logan Airport Capital Projects

Walked down to the new Terminal E entrance while waiting for a flight. Suffolk safety guy at the entrance said they are now targeting an August opening. One thing I didn’t realize is the expansion will have an additional security checkpoint. Much needed, as Terminal E checkpoint can back up a...

Steel now spans the EB highway. Also got some pictures of one of the largest beam single beams I have seen in my life waiting in the staging zone.

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

Exchange South End is mired between the BPDA, the IAG and MassDOT. The community benefits agreement which was incorporated into BPDA approval stated that the project would construct two access roads to I-93 Frontage road (itself an access road), to allow people to access the development via...
