    The New Residential Conversion Thread

I’d love to move into one of these for location and character if I can afford. But biggest benefit is they won’t be haunted since ghosts avoid commercial property 😊

Are there other forums/websites like ArchBoston for other cities in the US?

Urban Planet is very similar. While it has many cities, including Boston, certain forums are more active such as Charlotte’s https://forum.urbanplanet.org/forum/253-charlotte/

    The New Retail Thread

Mia's Brooklyn Bakery recently opened in the Seaport at 70 Pier 4 Blvd among a TON of new upscale retail where I don't really belong :) https://www.bostonseaport.xyz/venue/mias-bakery/ And Dray Drink's Non-Alcoholic Bottle Shop opened up in the South End at 12 Union Park St...

    Dorchester Infill and Small Developments

I live in this area and while it looks strange, it’s a great way to add units. I wonder why it worked here and can the pattern be scaled across other under utilized properties?

    NYC Architecture and Development

I thought so as well but Boston Metro is 4,500 square miles whereas New York Metro is 4,669.0 square miles according to Wikipedia. My guess was more people commute in from beyond that metro area definition for work using commuter trains / rail supporting all the commercial development. But if I...

    NYC Architecture and Development

When I look at Google Earth and see New York City, it looks so massive. But when I look at metro population, it’s just 4x Boston area. But if I eye ball Boston’s urban core and think about quadrupling it, it’s still not even close to Manhattan. What am I missing? I know metro areas aren’t...

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

This thread is great. But it’s so hard for me to tell if all this infill is adding 500, 1000, 10,000, etc residents to the area. Anyone have any ideas or guesses?
