    Citgo Sign

I wish the sign was redesigned without the Citgo name and the triangle setup as an LED display. The triangle is iconic as is but the gas company association is yuck. Maybe red is the default config for the triangle during most of the day but it could showcase different designs at certain times...

North End Piazza on The Greenway | 198 Hanover Street | North End

100% some collusion of familial ties, friends, and knowing a guy to get this gross thing designed, skirted past neighborhood review, and built...

Massachusetts State Flag (we need a better state flag)

The feathers are far too detailed and need a redraw. I don't think most people know what a mayflower actually looks like to make the association (would've been better related to an actual boat motif). Agreed, Mississippi does it better already. That sons of liberty concept and the NE flag are great.

Metropolitan Storage Warehouse Redevelopment/Renovation (MIT) | 134 Mass. Ave | Cambridge

The school is a body of students and teachers (who may individually have their own practices and have worked on parts of the campus). The don't operate like an architecture firm collectively.

Boston University - Pardee School of Global studies | 250 Bay State Road | Fenway

These buildings were not cancelled because of the material of their structure. They fell through for surrounding economic and institutional changes. Mass timber use is still expanding rapidly. (A) - the trees are harvested from fast-growth species in sustainably managed forests or plantations...

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

Being a ticketed event was extremely lame and a mistake. People were even trying to scalp/resell tickets online.

920 Centre Street | SF Monastery | Jamaica Plain

That description is from the original proposal that kept the monastery. This new one has 79 condos and 79 apartments (35 more total units than the original). It will satisfy the people complaining about the precious view-shed behind the Arboretum, but now historic-preservation people will...

Copley Square Revamp | Back Bay

The plaza is perceived as being more hardscaped than in totality because that's what fronts the more active public thoroughfares (because they flipped the lawn and plaza sections). The second photo from in front of Trinity isn't as common a viewshed as along Dartmouth. Also re:Henry, photo was...

Skylines and Developments of the US/World

The roof on Allegiant stadium is ETFE (fancy clear plastic) and can be specified in different opacities. They definitely chose a more translucent one to mitigate some crazy heat gain from the desert sun. Sofi stadium in southern CA used a slightly more transparent of the same ETFE and they have...

Copley Square Revamp | Back Bay

Most of the new planters are very under-planted. Unsure if they have anything planned this season, but it currently adds to the overall barren look. Even with the trees and grass nice and green now.

Absolute insanity here. Thank god they didn't build that.

    "Dirty Old Boston"

So like... demolish the entire addition that wraps the center structure and probably accounts for the majority of the building's SF? The original was pretty, I just don't see how they would ever go about "restoring" something so heavily added onto. It's pretty nice as is imo

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston/Revere

I realize they're still super early in construction and the comparison isn't truly fair, but that instagram post comparing the lush, sunlit renderings to the overcast, glorified retention pond is sort of hilarious It's giving 2024 Willy Wonka Experience:

Tallest building in town, can you name the city?

Maybe AI? Zoom into the cars and some details and it starts to look funky.
