Tallest building in town, can you name the city?

#97 is the Central Park Tower in NYC

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

I wish Elkus would put more effort into their paneling designs. They introduce so many joints and it often results in square/squat proportions. That last photo of the corner shows off how stack-of-cubes it ends up looking. Works against the tall double-story reading of the windows. Their...

BU Data Sciences Center | 665 Commonwealth Avenue | BU Central

The BU building is honestly a shoe-in this year. Also the last year WRA's Berklee Tower is eligible.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I wish Moynihan's food hall was adjacent to the main concourse. It's sort of off in a corner and out of sight. That said, it's always bumping with people and music. The Tavern in the Square bar in SS is almost pleasantly quaint with its shitty webcam feed of the board and being so central.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Sort of amazed that massive feature column along Devonshire is still unsheathed.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

I think you overstate how "spectacular" this view is. You get a tiny sliver of nondescript Eastie down the canyon of buildings. The other examples all have a much greater proportion of vista regardless of the foreground stuff. The trees also soften the severe glass edges of the block - and I'd...

1400 Boylston Street | Star Market & Gulf | Fenway

CB2 as the corner tenant is a miss imo. A large storefront that sits largely devoid of activity. Would've been cool to have one of the restaurants there. I don't mind the "landscraper." Let Pierce be the gateway/flatiron piece. If a library branch or something similar does end up going inside...

    Green Line Type 10 Procurement

Are they going to integrate ad space onto the Type 10s? I've always disliked the way it was done on the Type 9s, and I don't think I've ever seen them actually use the space.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

It's really not. I wish you could have a nuanced take instead of constant hyperbole.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

I don't. Cities are more than just buildings. The new one will host youth summer camp programs too for the community outside of Wentworth. Way better than the huge surface parking lot there currently.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

So you want the school to disband their field sports programs? Or just put it... somewhere else in their 1/4 mile campus radius...? The existing one is heavily used. Don't see why being Division 3 precludes them from having a facility.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

Wentworth's life science complex is replacing their existing field. Very obvious reason to move it...

West End/Beacon Hill infill and small developments

These are oddly disappointing and similar looking proposals. The Ban one looks downright unfinished.

MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

It protects the elevator which is where someone is more likely to wait.

Foundation Medicine (Parcel P) | 400 Summer Street | Seaport

This photo from another thread just reminded me of this. Great layering and structural authenticity.

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

Yes I'm aware of the old trees. You can find my own comment in this thread several pages back complaining about them tearing them down during construction. They were wonderful. I don't know what the exact reasoning was for their replacement (need for a level staging area perhaps), but it...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

There's at least 6' of height difference between the upper entry and main level. At the steepest allowed 1:12 ramp (which needs continuous handrails on each side) the ramp would be 72' long plus the need for 2 intermediate landings (needed every 30" of level change), so a minimum of 82'. The...

    Quincy General Developments

Quincy has enough problems keeping businesses along Hancock st. as is (counted half empty this morning). The area needs more foot traffic. Build more dense residential, not parking.

Somerville High School Renovation & Expansion | 81 Highland Ave | Somerville

Probably a roadway to get firetruck access back there.

Ragon Institute | 624 Main Street | Kendall Square

This building is beautiful and I will fight all dissenters. Ragon is fine. It's a different approach - ubiquitous glass envelope with a subtly varying screen. Vs a residential/hotel program using units in a tower.
