South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Though limited, I did notice the crane was "interacting" with the core around 4:30 this afternoon. (interacting: hook block was lowered to the core - it's been retracted while the site was inactive - and the boom was moving around before coming to a stop again after 5:00p)

    North Washington St Bridge

Ok, so I get the frustration with this bridge, but I think there's a couple of things to point out that hopefully are productive in the conversation. 1. The bridge isn't finished. Yes, the work to complete the western side continues, but additional work is yet to be complete on the eastern...

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

Is that structural steel issue persisting? It feels like they're making marginal eastbound progress at best...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Why do we think they're opting to not glass-in the entire southern exposure? The wider sides and the Dewey Sq-facing side are receiving their glass treatments at a steady clip...

BU Data Sciences Center | 665 Commonwealth Avenue | BU Central

it still wows for me in the way the glass plays with reflection. I was on the Pike inbound on Saturday in the snow and the side facing the Charles literally looked as if it wasn't there based on the reflection; my eyes/ mind really struggled with making since of how the upper two "books" were...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

cool, but also kinda silly: 1 Financial would absolutely have a prominent presence in this shot, diminishing the soaring and airy nature of SST as pictured in this render.

There also not cladding that SE wedge portion (to the right of the construction elevator) for some reason. With back-to-back weeks with storms featuring SE'rly winds, I wonder how those panel have been stressed with extreme wind/ pressure hitting them from the interior facing side...

On The Dot | 505 Dorchester Avenue | South Boston

Ok, so another but adjacent project to this one, but what's wild to me is that this area (based on that old map) was actually called Washington Village; meaning the name of the Samuels project isn't random at all, but actually quite appropriate. 🤯

Foundation Medicine (Parcel P) | 400 Summer Street | Seaport

I would argue this isn't technically a "cyclist connection" as you would have to dismount and carry your bike down the stairs. That said, it is faster to get down/ into the Seaport than continuing eastbound to D St or westbound to Melcher.

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

silly gripe, but of all places in town that could use some visual interest, why were holiday lights not strewn on all of these new trees?

    Biking in Boston

Avid rider as I've mentioned before and Berkeley is part of my daily route; thrilled about this change and this stretch is a drag strip most mornings. One thing I've wondered about is why they couldn't move the signposts into the hashed area with something more substantial of a divider/...

Crane within the core on the way down over the past couple of days with the boom being dismantled Sunday and the gantry yesterday; another step closer to the first concrete pour...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

It's future phase-dependent on whether we're stuck with that or not. I think the "hotel" (yellow) and "mid rise" (green) presented in the image below will break up/ obscure a lot of this if/when built

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

The impending all-glass façade will probably "flatten" the appearance of the building, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the notches in the floor plates on the the NW and SE ends of the tower; interesting dynamism being introduced.

    One Lincoln (State Street Building)

New Lettering is up. A little harder to read than the State Street lettering, but "comforting" to see the building branded once again.

    Apple Store Thread ][

Does this feel like an overreaction? Is this a play to demonstrate action to mitigate compensation to victims of the Hingham incident? First, the environment/ layout is completely different in that cars cannot really orient themselves to be perpendicular to this specific storefront and...
