I want to caution on this one. There's been major construction on this stretch for a while (started further south) and the lanes were pulled up a while back with signage pointing cyclists to the sidewalk with a bike lane rejoin north of Allstate.

Wu had a non-answer on WGBH this week about Mass Ave ("I will need to get back to you on the Mass Ave lanes"), while being more transparent about removing infrastructure elsewhere.

I'd also note that this had more hard infrastructure installed than other lanes, making me more skeptical that they would be pulled up (see the bike signals in your photo) as well as a series of bus islands along the stretch.

That's all while acknowledging the Mass Ave was brutal to drive before the bike lanes were put in; I avoid it altogether now and take alternative N-S streets in the area.

That appears to be construction related, don't you think? It's unfortunately SOP for bike lanes to disappear during road construction, even if there are accommodations made for vehicular traffic and pedestrians. The road was not torn up like that last time I passed through there in Decemberish.

It's been like that since August-ish? BWSC has been replacing a deep water main on Mass Ave. Bikes had been detoured onto the sidewalk to go around. They started pulling back portions of the jersey barriers about 2-3 weeks ago now that work is finishing up.
