I saw this on Reddit as well and thought it could either be a base for a smaller crane such as this...Anyone know what project this is for?
Or maybe due to the extents of the renovation it will be the base for a buckhoist, construction elevator.

I suspect Scape is exiting the Boston market. They initially came in with big promises of $1 billion to invest in student housing, got backlash on each one of their projects, of which only one made it out of the ground/opened. Combined with high construction costs and a pause in college attendance during COVID (even though they are not targeting the student housing market in Boston anymore), at this point, they must see that Boston/Cambridge/Somerville (premiere college cities) are not pro-housing and it's not worth dealing with the trouble we present.Anyone heard anything about 819 beacon?

It was approved in october 2021! Thats a long time ago now, might be a bad sign. This really needs to happen in order to fill in that large gap next to the air rights parcel and remove 1 more of the large lots that are left around fenway. Plus thats 446 more residential housing units!
