Proposed new 10-story residential building with 217 residential units and ground-level retail between the Public Market parking garage, Preble St., Oxford St., and Elm St. in Bayside.

This project is getting its public hearing for planning board approval tonight:

Some new renderings posted to the meeting materials:

too bad it's not taller, although may be max for zone... hope it doesn't get scaled down to 4-5 stories... George certainly doesn't seem to like it :ROFLMAO:

Love those materials and colors....hope it ends up looking like that.

I like it and certainly serves an important purpose. Will there be windows facing the garage that appears to be 2 feet away? Seems almost inhumane. I may be wrong, just looks like it.

The rendering makes the garage look closer than it will be IRL; the site plans on the planning board's website show a ~15 foot alley between this building and the garage, with some landscaping:

The planning board unanimously approved the site plan for this project.

The applicants also shared a new rendering of the courtyard area facing Oxford Street, which could also include an outdoor seating patio for the commercial tenant on the Oxford/Preble corner:

Is it an optical illusion that makes the building look like it gets wider toward the top ... with the corners (with black windows) ascending out and up?
