“The proposed project is a 41-unit, 43,600-square-foot development with 35 parking spaces on 15,750 square feet of land.”

I forgot to capture a photo, but the excavator is making VERY quick progress digging out the foundation. I imagine this has a high priority, pretty easy foundation, and is ready to go up ASAP. Perhaps there are seasonal weather difficulties approaching that might be best to mitigate by starting quickly in early Dec?

As a neighbor to this, I imagine this one will REALLY stick out, looming over the McKay school yard, mirroring the monstrosity on Maverick across the street. It'll replace some dilapidated multi-families owned by landlords renting to those who may be lesser-off, and transformed into "luxury". A much-appreciated street-level retail - probably not alcohol-licensed aka a bar/restaurant - but some shop that may slightly improve the community retail. I appreciate the small convenience store (for quick essentials when I can't make it to the grocery store or whatever) in the new complex across the street...

This is a six-minute walk to the Maverick MBTA station, so it's a bit disappointing to have almost one parking space per unit. I realize that the neighbors hyperventilate about the availability of street parking, but we just incentivize the new residents to have cars when parking is provided and it will exacerbate traffic issues. A zero parking requirement within a 1/2 mile of rapid transit stations would be a good common-sense zoning amendment.
