The deal is supposedly done. We shall all find out soon the impacts on the UK economy and society. When does Scotland exit? When does Ireland unify? This seems like the "end of the beginning."
For what it's worth, I get a lot of my Brexit news and thought from (firmly in the "Brexit was a bad idea" camp) Jon Worth.
I think we'll have to see what happens after England and the UK's other constituent countries get through COVID-19. I'm worried that the long-term effects of "long COVID" on the UK are going to be. If the idea of social solidarity breaksdown in the UK if long COVID becomes a long-term drain on economy and society in addition to the short-term shock of a Brexit, I wonder if it causes larger segments of the voters in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland to rethink the Union and the value of being in the UK. I don't think we'll see these tensions for a few years though.
