The 175 room, 101,000 square foot, 7 floor Aloft Hotel in the Providence 195 Innovation & Design District opened this past week. The hotel is managed by Marriott and is located at 191 Dorrance Street at the intersection of Dorrance, Dyer, and Clifford Streets. The hotel will eventually have amenities such as a first floor restaurant and roof top bar. It is the fifth Marriott property in downtown Providence joining the Providence Marriott, Courtyard Marriott, Renaissance Marriott, and Residence Inn. Its opening closely followed The Beatrice Hotel which began operations at the end of August. These properties coming on line marks a milestone for the city as it will bring the total downtown hotel room inventory over the 3,000 mark.
