You read that right. Ashland is on the up-and-up. Right off 126. Just over the Framingham border.

Nice! Our first home was in Ashland at Ledgemere Country Condominiums...............Mountain Gate Road. (I still like that name for a road!)

In addition to the new developments, the Route 126 reconstruction project will certainly improve the area once it's finished; it's recently been a huge pain in the ass driving on 126 through Ashland.

I first read that as “Mountain Goat.”

Both are equally a bit odd. As far as I know, there is no Mountain or Gate leading to a Mountain within Ashland. LOL At least, there might be the "possibility" of a Mountain Goat within Ashland.

Developer buys site of planned 174-unit complex in Ashland for $4.2M

Baystone Ashland, LLC, an affiliate of Baystone Development of Weston, purchased a property at 100 Chestnut St. in Ashland for $4.2 million. The property was approved in October by the Town of Ashland for a mixed-use development featuring 174 apartments, 10,500 square feet of retail space, and 357 parking spots.

Plans for the two-building development were originally submitted to the town in May 2021.

Baystone Development has built commercial and residential developments across Eastern Massachusetts and MetroWest, including three Framingham developments: The Buckely apartments; the 353-unit Danforth Green, portions of which were sold to Avalon Development of Arizona and Brendan Properties of Southborough after permitting; and the redevelopment of Framingham National Bank.

The Sanctuary at Ashland Mills Update 04/17/24

50 main 1

250 Unit Redevelopment Planned for Ashland Mills

“Strategic Land Ventures is planning a 40B project at 10-50 Main Street in Ashland. The proposed development will feature a unique combination of architectural restoration and new construction, both of which will support the proposed mixed-use community, including the creation of 250 apartments.

The site has a series of two and three-story post-Civil War granite mill buildings. Over the years, the mills have been added onto a series of warehouse-style brick structures without the architectural integrity or value of the original mills. The design, from EMBARC, maintains and restores the two northernmost mills, converting the space to commercial and retail uses, some of which will be open to the public, including approximately 7,500 sf of flexible open space.

The remaining brick structures on site will be replaced with a single 4 and 5-story multifamily residential building containing 250 apartment units with 337 concealed podium parking spaces in addition to the surface parking spaces.”
