Best Cafes of Boston

Asaro Bakery & Cafe in Cambridge is new-ish (replaced an old Darwin's I think) and has solid baked goods. For coffee, they use La Colombe beans. Super friendly employees and a nice space!

Cafe Reynard is a new microroastery and specialty coffee spot operating out of Idle Hands Brewery in Malden Center. Just tried it today--friendly staff and a great array of pourover options!

This is not Boston, but I noticed you were looking for good donuts. Eighty 8 Donuts in Portland Maine, across from the new tallest building, are possibly the best I have ever had. A little bit pricey but hot and made to order, smaller sized donuts in quantities of 6. I went with a friend and we split 2 types so had 3 of each. Between that and Mount Desert Island Ice Cream (and obviously awesome architecture, walkability, Eastern prom, Excalibur at Funtown, etc) I'm certainly not lacking in excuses to go to Portland!
