Nice to see that section of Harrison avenue getting some much needed development. Hopefully it will also lead to some foot traffic in some of the restaurants and shops that opened in the Ferdinand building.

Sorry to bump this thread. With the recent announcement about the city providing tax incentives to get the project started, are there any updated renderings? The ones that I saw in the press release are the same as the first post in this thread.

Seem that they are kind of slow in building this. What's taking them so long?!!

Financing construction depended on selling BFIT's current South End building for redevelopment by Related Beal. But the loans Related (and any other developer) would need to take out right now cost about twice what they did when the deal with BFIT was made almost two years ago, so presumably Related Beal is having to redesign their development to make it cheaper and/or having to wait for interest rates to come down.

A few weeks ago, Mayor Wu offered to break the logjam with some city tax breaks, so maybe we'll see movement if that proves to be enough to close any gap in the Related Beal project's financing: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2023/10/11/business/franklin-cummings-tech-roxbury-bpda/

Having the school anchor nubian sq is really going to bring a lot more foot traffic that will sustain the newly opening retail in the area and should really help it take off.
