Bike to the Sea / Northern Strand Community Trail

Thanks. Is there a similar plan for the angled crossing at the other end of town, Lynn and Wesley streets?

By the way, just an example of damage done to ROW before it could be preserved in the form of a path... an autobody fenced off a section of the ROW and used it to dump chemicals such as transmission fluid, brake fluid, and gasoline, among other things. The section of trail is now fenced off and could take a few million to clean up. Thankfully the trail came before any more instances of this came up. Clean ups like this, among other problems, would hinder any transit expansion.

Is this going to delay the opening of the bike trail ?

They're working around it. They're going to have to make a very skinny section of trail, right up against the abutting homes' properties in order to go around the fenced off clean-up site. There's a lawsuit being filed to cover the clean up.

Just an update that they've begun clearing the Saugus portion. They've gone form the Revere line up to Central St (Saugus Center). Next they'll do Central St to the Lynn line. Then they'll go back and do Revere. Lynn has yet to do anything other than sit on their hands and look suspicious, so once they do Revere, then Lynn will be the odd man out on this project.
